Now, we move on to Gretchen. At the party I called her cute a couple of times. She let Slade know this was not OK, and he thought I was jealous of her. Hmmmm. First of all, I know cute is a four letter word, but when did it become a "FOUR LETTER WORD"!?! Gretchen and I had a few nice moments together when we went to the bathroom (OK, that sounds weird, but you know what I mean) so, when we got back to the table, I was genuinely enjoying her company. Tamra had scared me so badly about all of the ladies before the party, I was relieved that I was getting along with everyone. So I said she was cute! BTW, she is cute. I meant it as a compliment. For the record Sladey-Slade, I had a great time in my 20s and 30s. I'm very excited to be in my 40s and I'm in a great place in my life. I have no desire to go backwards. . Just saying. . .
The dinner -- well, I thought Vicki did a great job with dinner. She was trying something a little different and fun. I thought some of the girls were rude about the food. My only issue was the presentation. You can't bring out industrial plastic bags to serve crawfish... That was a poor choice . It would have been cooler if they had piled them directly on butcher paper on the table. Just a thought. . .
I like you Heather, you have a lovely family, the forties are a great time of life (how old is Slade?), and you are an actress! Gretchen is cute, this girls are soooo touchy.
You're 100% right! It's a bad idea to move into a boyfriends house with your child, and you have no solid commitment. . . It makes me really wonder about where Sarah's head really is!
Isnt Sarah supposed to be a 'Winchester heir'? So why doesnt she just live in her OWN house until she gets a ring???? . . . There's something that just doesnt 'ring' true about all this!
Welcome Heather! I am soo excited to see you and a breath of fresh air!! You are SO beautiful!! I love your family and your husband's "corny jokes" already! You can see the love! Can't wait to learn more about you this season!!
Giant Space Slugs is your credit? I grew up in OC and Hun, let me tell you, that is not something I would call a "credit" to an acting career.
Heather, I like you!! I think your the person that could put these ladies in thier place. They all need this at times and each have a litlle snoodyness in thier own, when you seem to tell like it is, your more real and down to earth than any of them..AND YOUR A BRUNETTE in OC, your different right off the bat than the typical OC housewife...You seem truly happy in your life...Cant wait to see where you go in this series...
Um, ok. Heres the thing. Maybe you didn't watch real housewives before you were asked to be on it. That is completely understandable. But once you agreed to do it, um, under contract I'm just guessing, I find it very hard to believe that you didn't google it, watch past episodes, figure out who was who, etc, etc, etc. Please try to be real and when you see yourself on the same show that we see and blog about it, please don't try to convince us of something that didn't happen. Cause we are not totally stupid. ok? Jusst own what you do and move forward and you will be fine.
Ummmm, who was the guy Heather was with when she met with Tamara at the empty lot? Who is the real husband?
Hi, I am a "shiksa" (excuse me if my spelling is incorrect- I didn't have time to spell check it) from The Bronx, NY (just south of your home town in Westchester) and I married a Jew from Brooklyn (36+ years ago). Get over your "engagement" proposal. At least you got one; and from the sound of it, he still proposed when you weren't at your most sexy moment.
You mention above that you need to update your profile on imdb, but you also say "you get the idea." When I searched for your name, Heather Dubrow, on imdb.com I didn't find anyone. However, there was a "Heather Dubow" listed with only one credit from 1993 - Giant Space Slugs. Is this you? There are no pictures.
The point I'm trying to make here is that you seem to be a bit "high and mighty" if you will about your life and you seem to love to mention that you are an actress. The way most people see it, if you aren't making enough money to sustain the lifestyle you are currently living with the profession you identify with -whether it's acting, singing or even photography- it is more of a hobby.
Don't get me wrong, I think you are bringing a little class and dignity to this group of women. Please don't make everyone hate you with your seemingly immodest and snobbish attitude.
Why didn't you tell them you starred in a series (totally based around your character) ?! Am I the only one who loved that show?
You said much of what was on my mind...concerning the food, engagement with kids and the plane, and Alexis/Gretchen. Welcome, I think we are going to love you. I think your hubby is too cute with his corny jokes....it shows he is grounded.
Dear Heather, your beautiful face and energy just lite up the show last evening! Finally there is someone with class on the show now. We have now watched two of the wives leave quality husbands for their new life of dating losers. You doll have it all and that is what a great marriage can bring. Your husband is so sweet and the kids are adorable. I loved how you interacted with women that are so in need of a role model like you. Your style reminded me of my favorite housewife LuAnn from NYC. She like you are classy ladies that fans like me admire. The style and poise that you showed was wonderful. I cannot wait to see more of you. The bickering blondes are just plain old boring. They really have no world view or perspective to inspire anyone with a brain.
Heather...so far enjoying you. Don't take the girls to seriously...you made comments too. Enjoy the ride...
You are a welcom addition. The show needed some class and you have brought it. Thanks for allowing us to view your fabulous home. You were right on with the engagement ring. So glad you clarified as editing for drama and ratings doesn't give the viewers a fair and accurate show. Gretchen is cute. BUT I can understand Slade trying to reassure her with suggestions as to why you called her "cute". As you have never watched the show, keep in mind you joined at the request of Tamra, who Slade knows along with the other "ladies" (loosely used term here) has often been unfair and quite mean to Gretchen . Cannot wait to see more of your family and lifestyle - it is what dreams are made for.
You are refreshing ! The girls are jealous of you already ! Gretchen is the worst, stay clear and cordial.
I love your closet! And watching your husband play with your daughter was beyond cute. I agree with you... he needs to put a ring on it. My fiance asked me to marry him in my favorite park with my grandmother's ring. It was perfect. Maybe your husband can "re-do" the proposal one day. But bad proposal or not, you should be proud of the years you've stayed together. You're blessed to have such a beautiful family.
You are great!!! You do come off condescending and snobby...why...because you can!!! It is what normal people see as confident!!! I personally love you and your family. Put the wannabees in their place!!!
I just have to say your baby is absolutely gorgeous!!! And also when you were telling Gretchen she was cute it did come across as condescending whether you meant it to or not so I totally got where Gretchen was coming from!
Heather, I KNEW you looked familiar...from TV AND from Chappaqua!!! Congratulations on joining the RHOC.....You are a wonderful addition. Good Luck!
I am so glad you joined OC this season, I feel like the show needed someone lke you. A REAL housewife!
Heather, I disagree with you comment about "put a ring on your finger first". That's a modern term that goes along with our shallow society. Commitment is what matters, if she's wearing a "band" that's NOT your call. The story of Paris was belittling your husband, that's what I heard and was stunned. Must everything be about what you have? You're in for a bumpy ride in life if that's your barometer in life.
Heather, you are a breathe of fresh air I think these blondes have to much peroxide leaking in there brain.Gretchen spend so much time defending Slade she can't relax and enjoy things I thought it was weird that she looked up Vicki's boyfriend on internet to get dirt on him and winned when Tamara did it to her when she cheated on Jeff and dead-beat-dad Slade not paying his child support.
You seem to be very polished and these ladies have never been sheek. So I look forward to you adding a bit of class to the group. I like that you stated "age appropriately" if Gretchen wants to move past CUTE I suggest she act more womanly than as a giggly teenager too. By the way she is my daughters favorite so CUTE is a correct term for Gretchen. Just Saying!
Thanks Heather for defending us 40 somethings to slade.....what sleez ball! I have never been a huge Slade fan....but now as far as I'm concerned he can kick rocks!!!
It's none of your business how anyone else lives her life. If Sarah wants to live together with her beau, she doesn't require permission from a near stranger. If you are in love with the man, it shouldn't matter where the marriage proposal takes place. You sound sort of shallow in telling that story.
I am looking forward to seeing more of you on RHOC, Heather!!! I hope you bring some NY flavor to the show, as I am from the Mid-Hudson Valley. Also, "That's Life" was my favorite show at the time, so no need to have to defend your acting credits to this fan :):).

I totally feel you on the proposal! (Mine wasn't what I'd always dreamed of either.) I can't figure out if Alexis has a low self-esteem or just has way to much pride. I think she is just green with envy when it comes to you.
Welcome, Heather.... I'm SO loving you so far & I am surprised but for sure loving & excited that you are friends with Tamara.... can't wait to see more of you...:)
Be careful as the newbies tend to start out all feisty but burn out quite quickly afterwards. These women will chew you up and spit you out if you play the diva too quickly. Try not to come across as arrogant because those who do that too soon lose many fans before they have even got going.
Heather, I love you on the show! It is so refreshing to see a beautiful, articulate, elegant brunette on the show with great skin, gorgeous clothes and beautifully applied makeup after all the dry, sprayed stiff bleached blond hair, orange foundation, garish eyeshadow and lip gloss so heavy and pink and shiny you would swear the 80s were still raging. Welcome!
You bring a fresh perspective and a fun attitude to the show..looking forward to following you this season!
I thought it ironic that Alexis made the Angelina Jolie comment, considering she thinks she's a fashion designer and a news correspondent. I remember you from the Jenny McCarthy show and you clearly have a long list of acting jobs on your resume.
Love you and your family. Your husband is great, love his goofy sense of humor, it makes him the cutest guy in the bunch! And I also mean cute as a compliment. ;0)
Heather!!! I thought what u said to Sarah was perfect!!! You are definitely not in the wrong!! And I love the fact you are a brunette!!! Your are my favorite!!
