Memorial Day weekend is here!!! Yeah! I love long weekends with my family! I had such an amazing trip to NYC this week! I loved being with Andy Cohen on WWHL! My first time in the clubhouse was a blast! Dr. Oz is a great guy, and I was happy to see him again. I'm especially proud of my new WWHL Medical Degree. I knew I could be a doctor!
I also saw lots of family and a few friends while I was in town.
There is never enough time but I can't stay away too long from my brood. Plus, it was open house night at school -- the kids would be devastated if we missed that!
So this episode was special to me. Changing my name legally was representative of so many things. No one wants to feel they have lost their identity. It was a struggle between my past, present, and future. I feel I made the right decision for me and my family. Truthfully though, there is no right or wrong decision when it comes to changing one's name after marriage. The prevailing factors should be that the decision is mutually agreed upon by both partners in the relationship and that everyone feels happy and confident.
you are my fave housewife (not because we have the same first name). I just laughed at the fact that you talked about your name change and how much it meant to Terry...funny theres an issue of name changing in Fifty too! lol
All right, I gotta say- Heather, you are my favorite person to have EVER hit any of the Housewives shows! I am so grateful to see an articulate, educated, well-spoken individual on the show, and your relatability is just a breath of fresh air. You and your husband are just great to watch, and I love that you actually respect and love your craft, and are trying to get back into it for THAT reason. You are the star of the show! Hugs to you and the Doc from Ohio!
Heather, Love, Love, Love you (and your wonderful family). So glad you joined the cast this year. You continually make me smile and seem to say exactly what I'm thinking. Thanks for the laughs and insight. Keep it up!
Can you please be classier and stop instigating between the girls and Alexis. Alexis means well. You're not an expert or the end of all of anything, so your opinions and talk about Alexis that instigates more gossip, more bad talk, and more hurt is uncalled for. Be real. Get over it.
When you first joined the Housewives, I thought you might be the cliche beautiful, younger women who married a wealthy, older man. Those relationships don't often have much soul. However, after watching you and Terry together I have a complete change of opinion. You two are the SWEETEST couple!
You have a genuine respect, love and affection for each other. The contrast between your career talk with Terry compared to Alexsis' discussion with Jim was dramatic. Terry was loving and supportive vs Jim's controlling, negative reaction. And during the discussion of your Dubrow (doo br oohhh) name change, Terry's reaction showed his deep love for you. You two are a great addition to the show!
I just loved the moment you and your husband shared in this episode! You two are definitely one of my favorite Housewives couples! As a feminist, I find the whole name change business a bit complicated. I am getting married, and I am changing my last name. That the issue was so important to you is probably one of the reasons Terry was so happy; you made a sacrifice for him...a loving one. I totally agree with your assessment--the decision should be made mutually and for the right reasons! But in the end, it's not really a choice I would judge others for either.
First of all, I was cracking UP at the DMV. They must be upset cause they have to work there. You're too cute. Second, to watch you and Terry was so beautiful. I actually cried, and you've restored faith that there are actually happy marriages somewhere! I really appreciate you being so authentic, and I'll say again you are the reason I even still watch this franchise!
Your both lucky to have each other!! Terry is my favorite husband of all the cities and you and Tamra are two of my favorite housewives. It is refreshing to see some intelligence on these reality shows. You have a beautiful family and loving, sharing, fun relationship with each other. I love seeing Terry with the kids, what a wonderful father!! Such a 360' change from Alexis and Jim's dysfunctional relationship.
YOu''re starting to grow on me. take it ez on Alexis at the reunion. YOu try to come across as the "voice of reason" do so at the reunion...or ur screwed. THis is your chances to prove yourself!
If you want to do stand up comedy, do not go to a place where poorly paid civil servants have to be polite to dozens of fools every day. A polite please and thank you with a smile would be a treat. They are not paid to flatter your ego.
I was looking for your husbands blog!!!!! lol hes a gossip also. I wouldn't want to be a patient of his. All of O.C. would know what you had done.
It was very touching to see Terry's reaction. You hit the jack-pot with him...he is definitely a keeper!
Costa Rica looks awful.you are not being the one bullyed this season so it looks fun.alexis is a sweet girl.if the show is on long enough you will find out how it works.gretchen for years was bullyed by tamra. and now lexie has her turn.jeanna was once told nobody liked her and there was wine throwing.so stick around for a few seasons and you will be suprised what comes out.you gossip to much about the bellinos.print this for heather bravo.thanks
I was going to start my post with congratulations, but then you posted right off the bat, fun long weekend!
Memorial Day, is one to recognize our soldiers for protecting and loosing their lives for our freedom!
There is nothing more important than that!
Heather!! As usual, you make the show interesting for me to watch. I LUV your style, and by that I don't necessarily mean fashion (although you dress impeccably) but the way you handle things and see life in general. Great perspective and attitude. You made me laugh at the DMV! I would have probably tried the same jokes, and mostly just to amuse myself.
The scene with Terry learning about your name change brought tears to my eyes. What a sweetheart he is!! You are a lucky and fortunate woman and I am so happy to see how much you both admire and love each other. Not so common these days in this world. Your relationship reminds me of Lisa and Ken from BH- LUV them also.
Have a Happy Memorial Day!! Big giant THANKS to all our service men and women from past and present- without you we wouldn't have the opportunity to have our wonderful lives in this great country. God Bless You all! XX
When I get married, the name change was a difficult decision so I kept my maiden name as my second middle name , keeping my identity intact and close to my heart.
Heather, you and your family are so lovely. I enjoy you the most out of the entire 'housewives' franchise. You have dethroned even Lisa, which is not an easy thing to do! ;-)
I hope to see you back next season.
Heather,
I absolutely love you and your family!! I thought it was so adorable that you changed your name legally and Terry's reaction was priceless and so precious. It brought me to tears! Your love for each other really shows every episode but especially this episode!
I think it is really respectable of you that you have not blogged about Alexis in your recent blogs! I have to say though that I find it really upsetting that people are so critical of your opinion of Alexis. I find you to be a very upfront and no nonsense type of person. You are not fake and you don't pretend to like people that you don't like. Everything that you have said this season about Alexis is true. It isn't bullying or ganging up on her. It is the truth and Alexis just likes playing victim so people who are not good judges of character fall for it. I think that she is jealous that everything she is constantly bragging and talking about you actually have and don't have to constantly talk about it or validate it. You also have a great, loving and supportive husband and I thought it was terrible and offensive the way that she talked about Terry in her interview and blog about his profession and not knowing where the sinuses are, etc. That is terrible and could have affected your husbands business, had people actually cared about her opinion. I think it is terrible that she had the gall to do and say that.
As for Tamra's meeting with Alexis, I thought that Tamra handled it great! Alexis called and asked for the meeting and Tamra told her she was going to be honest and she was. I would have definitely not delivered my message nearly as nicely as she did. I thought that Tamra telling Alexis what Terry said was not intentional and I understood that she was just in the heat of the moment and trying to prove that she is not the only one that felt this way. I thought that it was great that she immediately told you and Terry together about what happened and apologized and I really really respected how you both handled the situation. It showed how classy you both are as well as how great of friends you both are with Tamra!
I love that Terry has fun with the show. He doesn't take himself too seriously and he doesn't take this show too seriously which is great! I think it is great that he has a sense of humor and is able to just take everything with a grain of salt. I think you are the best housewife out of all of the franchise and I hope you stick around for a long long time!!
You are so seasoned well with a lil salt when you speak. Very poised. Gretchen needs this sometimes lol...Love her..Who could be critical of you. You are well spoken, honest, true, transparent, lovely, kind, well thought in words, expressions are well thought out and spoken. You are amazing. I asked God to give me knowledge how to address others as well as you do. You guys have it all and are approachable and honorable with integrity. Terry is awesome. I think you are the only real true housewife. Alexis wants to be where you are.
Heather, You and your hubby are awesome! You are classy and well-spoken! I cannot believe some of the rabid Alexis fans who post on your blog. Are they blind, actually deaf - she says some of the most moronic things. She struggles to sound intelligent and it always backfires and makes her look more stupid. Maybe you can buy her a dictionary:)
Why on earth would you ask Tamra to "have your back" in confronting Alexis?! Good Lord woman! What do you have to confront her on?!?! She's done NOTHING to you. You are not the morality police. Clean your own house & stop imitating Tamra as a mean girl....it's not pretty.
Love you on the show. Some cast and viewers just can't handle the truth, even when they ask for it. Stay true to the real person you are. You & that hubby of yours are great addition to the show.
DMV workers EVERYWHERE are like that --- absolutely no personalities and rude. Don't take it personally. I like you and your husband but wish you'd both take a back seat to the "mean girl" attitudes.
I just changed my name 2 weeks ago after 3 years of marriage. It was just a pain at the beginning, but it meant a lot to my husband. He was touched, but not as much as Terry seemed to be! :)
You seem like a decent person underneath your petty alliance with Tamara. What the heck? Why would you allow a girl like that to pull you down? The scene on "First Look" where you and Tamara discussed having an "intervention" to straighten out Alexis----what gives you that right???? Are you perfect? No, you're not. How would you like for a group of people to get together and decide they're going to "straighten you out". You would do well to find another "buddy".
HI Heather,
You are so great. Your hubby is definatly a keeper and.... agree you weren't that funny at the DMV. The employees however were priceless. That was the true exact experience everytime I have been there. Thanks for showing it :)
hi heather,
In the beginning i really didnt like i just for the simply reason that Tamra brought in the show and you seem arrogant. But I like you now and since day one i was able to noticed that u and ur husband have a nice relationship. it was nice seeing yr husband reaction of your change of name. NICE!!!! Please dont turn to be like Tamra, I like you but I dislike HER.
Love you and your relationship with Terry. I agree he's smart, sexy, and sweet especially with little Collettie! But like others, you should back off Tamra's high horse with Alexis. Alexis is a target. Stay out of it IMO.
p.s. you were so fun with Andy and Dr. Oz
I love, love, LOVE you! Changing your name was great and watching your husband's reaction was priceless!! I love it when you are on the show.. I had to get my license renewed and I was the same way at the DMV.. needless to say.. I think they are nicer here in Texas. They laughed at my jokes... or maybe it was me laughing.. Anyway, I can't wait for tonight!
You and your family is so amazing........adding you too the show was a plus, your so real and you don't find that in most rich women
I would love to see Bravo start a show with you and your friends in LA...starting up the restaraunt, having get-togethers. Now THAT would be a classy show! I very much like watching you and your husband interact. It's very sweet. You both seem so grounded and above what goes on with the other castmates. Please don't get sucked in to Tamara's bitch fest.
I thought you were hysterical at the DMV, the first employee was clearly trying to act unimpressed by you and seemed a little jealous that her life is the pits :)
U were so funny at the DMV, when u were cracking jokes and they were as hard as a rock. i thought u were funny
You are by far the most grounded level headed housewife out of all the housewives. They could all take life lessons from you, your husband is just as awesome, love you guys keep up the good work with everything you do
Heather, you are the most level headed of all the wives. Do not let Tamara influence you so much! I agree that you and Alexis should have ironed out the comments made by your husband, but you should not have done it with all the other gals around. You are falling into Tamaras trap, and one day you may be the target of her cruel evil ways! You are so cool, stay that way!
Mrs. Dubrow,
I want a seat in your first communication class offered. I love the way you navigated your discussion with Alexis. You admitted what happened, and offered to discuss it. I really think skills like that could help us all in our love and work life. Thank you for joining the crew I look forward to seeing you go through more tough conversations so I can learn more. Many thanks!
Really, I want a week of classes ( or a book) from you.
Heather, I really think you would save yourself many headaches by quitting this show. All these women have all lived in California for many years and they didn't understand the Claro que Seafood play on words even after you explained it a few times? What unabashed ignorance! I think you and Terry might want to reconsider your friendship with Tamra. She has no filter and so is dangerous. You really are in a different league, and I don't think that you can elevate this group by yourself. Best of luck!
I think you are such a great addition to the cast... Classy, sophisticated and yet down to earth. You think before you say many things... But please keep a safe distance from tamra... She is nothing but an instigator and can be toxic.
Heather, Please talk to Bravo to ADD your beautiful friend with the helicopter. She helped you pack for the trip to Costa Rica in Mexico per Alexis. Got to love Alexis she is very beautiful but sometimes she makes the most Jessica Simpson statements and comments. Hey but look at the bright side Jessica Simpson owns a very successful multi million dallar company. Your friend will make a lot of the cast HATE HER TOO just because she is BEAUTIFUL AND RICH.
Don't be a mean girl like Tamara. She will turn on you next season!! Being judgmental is not becoming on anyone --no matter how much money you have!
Heather, you're quickly becoming my fave OC gal. You're smart, you're funny, you're likable. But whatever this is you've got with Alexis is making you act like such a jerk, and I don't think that's the real 'you.' You give Tamra a pass every time she's cruel, and you're hyper-critical of Alexis, and pretend to want to advise her as a "friend," which you're clearly not. I imagine you'd advise your own children that you don't have to be BFFs with everyone, but you should be nice. Alexis might be a bonehead, but I think you should at least be nice.

Heather, you took your husband's name to show him your love, but lately you have really been cruel to him. You showing signs that the other housewives showed before heading to divorce court.
