Laughter and Tears

Heather explains how she felt about the mud run and Terry's new clothes.

By Heather Dubrow

OMG! If you follow me on Twitter (@heatherdubrow) you will already know this, but Collette FINALLY took her first steps!!! It was soooo exciting! We got it on video. The whole family was there!!! What a fantastic moment!

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on  Peacock and the Bravo App.

I want to apologize for not writing a blog for the last episode. This is such a crazy time of year with the kids and time got away from me. So I'd like to make a few comments before launching into tonight's episode.

When I watched the last episode, it struck me that the viewers will actually get to see who I am. The scenes with Terry and the kids in our home were so us. I loved them. We are silly, fun, messy, and certainly not perfect -- but we love each other so much. I love having this time in my children's lives documented like that! This is the moment in the series where I was relaxed enough and felt like myself.

The day we spent in L.A. was SO fun! We all had a great time. I loved being able to share it with Tamra and Vicki. Tamra has been so great to me since the day we met, and this was a wonderful opportunity for Vicki and I to get to know each other better. Wonderful day of food, Champs, and most importantly, friendship. I want to especially thank my dear friends Jaye and Peter Adderton for loaning us their helicopter. They are the loveliest, most generous people. We are blessed to have them in our lives. (And for those of you who asked, sorry, she is taken! My stunning friend Jaye is HAPPILY married!) OK! On to tonight's episode!!!

Starting with. . .Terry's wardrobe makeover! I jokingly refer to Terry's style as "Biology Major". It's sad, but true! He is such a handsome guy. But I have to say, seeing a man in David August (by David Heil) clothes is a HUGE turn on. Gorgeous clothes, impeccably tailored, ROCK STAR! OK, I like Terry in the black scrubs too -- but you can't wear those to dinner. Well, I won't let him wear them to dinner! It's like he wears pajamas to work everyday. One time, he even wore his surgical clogs to a wedding! Yikes! NOT OK! Terry really needed this style makeover. David is THE men's clothier. He dresses every major celebrity, dignitary, and billionaire. Lucky for us, he and his gorgeous wife Lisa are also some of our best friends. I'm so glad that he will FINALLY look as sexy and successful as he is!

I love watching Eddie and Tamra together. Such a great couple. I'm so happy that she has decided to open her own business. I think a fitness studio is right up her alley. She is such a health/workout girl. This is something that she will really enjoy doing!

Briana is healthy!!! WHOO HOO!!! Best news ever. As any mother will tell you -- there is nothing worse than having a child who is sick. It's the biggest fear. I'm so happy for Briana and Vicky and their whole family. What a beautiful moment to realize how precious life is and to be grateful for all that we have. I really enjoyed having Tamra at my house for a workout. She has become a close friend and I really enjoy spending time together. This was also a very nice opportunity to use my gym! I have to admit, it doesn't get used very often. I usually go see my trainer, Mona, at The Newport Workout. I'm the kind of person who needs a scheduled appointment -- or I find a MILLION reasons to procrastinate in the house. Thanks Tam, for blowing off the cobwebs in there!

I was excited about the mud run! I am not competitive at all, but I am a joiner! This sounded like a fun challenge for me and it was for a great cause (wounded soldiers), so it sounded like a lot of fun!

Soooooooo. . . .THE MUD RUN!!!

Oh dear!!! I was so nervous! This sounded a lot better before we actually arrived!!! There were so many people there! Gretchen and Tamra are in such great shape! I was just hoping I could keep up! When we got to the first mud pit, I tried to keep my face clean -- to no avail. Terry got a rock in his eye and we had to stop and get THAT out! He's such a stud he would have kept on going, but I was worried! After that, I just released myself to the whole experience. I had no idea how TREACHEROUS this whole mud run deal is!!! Poor Gretchen and her ankle! I was so worried for her upcoming Pussycat Doll performance! First her throat, now THIS! UGH! She needed to stay home and recuperate till her show!

And then Eddie breaks his finger?!? Terry and I were lucky to come out unscathed!!!This is not a safe sport people! (Typical Eddie, such a stud just pops his finger backs in and finishes the race!)

At the end of the race, I am so glad I did it -- but cross it off my bucket list (if it was ever on it!) I'm never doing that again! HAHA! Super fun though!

About the showers. . .we were very late to finish because we stopped to wait for the medic to get Gretchen. So by the time we crossed the finish line the "shower" area was, well, a MUD PIT! Yuck! We did the best we could. . .

But btw, Terry was joking around about hosing us off. He's a jokester, not a peeping Tom.

I thought it was funny that the girls were ragging me about being dressed up at lunch after the mud. I just thought a loose dress sounded comfortable! I mean, come on, how glamorous can you be with mud-caked hair? Such a great lunch, and Tamra, I love you, but I am NOT going skydiving!!!

I love Vicki and Brooks together. Vicki seems like she has been unhappy for so long. It's wonderful to see her accept the fact that she deserves love and has found someone in Brooks who satisfies her and her needs.

Having said that, it's still so sad to see something end. Watching Vicki and Tamra both going through divorces is so sad. I'm glad they have each other to lean on through these difficult times.

How devastating to see Tamra sign her divorce papers. I know it's what she wants and it's the right decision for her, but whenever something ends it's so sad and so hard -- especially when there are children involved. My heart just broke for her watching that scene.

Well, there it is, laughter and tears. Beginnings and endings. I've learned a lot about friendship in the last few months. All I can say is if you can find a few true blue friends, you are a lucky soul. Hope you enjoyed this week's episode. Share your thoughts with me. . .
