Lay Off

Heather wonders what Alexis was just so up in arms about during the painting party and discusses Terry's jokes.

Before I talk about this week's show, I'd just like to say thank you so much for your comments. Although some are negative, they were mostly positive and encouraging. I never thought I'd do a reality show. It's very strange to be under a microscope, and I really appreciate the support. Please also remember: this was new to us. I hope you all can get to know our family for who we really are, as we got comfortable in this medium. (Side note: I was not in the movie Space Slugs -- that was someone named "Heather Dubow." I'm Heather Dubrow. Check out my page under Heather Paige Kent.)

My dinner with Terry, yes, I know I will get a lot of flak for that dinner, but I like things the way I like them. If you are at a restaurant and paying for a meal, it should be to your taste. However, always be kind to servers and even if you are picky (like me). Make sure you're extra kind so no one is offended!

As for Terry, he is a jokester and even though I do cook he likes to joke about it. . . It can still be annoying sometimes, but he means it to be funny. And for the record, I don't send my food back 90 percent of the time. . .only if it's undercooked, which is why I asked for the thin piece of fish. If it's thick it won't cook through! I mean seriously? Am I really explaining this?!?

Painting party. . .The ladies reactions to my invitation was hysterical. No one seemed to understand or be that excited by the prospect, but I knew they would enjoy it when they got there!

Can you believe that food! My caterer (Brian Dobbin) is amazing and I love that he prepared a healthy and scrumptious low carb meal!

There's a lot I can say about the party, but to me the big deal was about. . .ALEXIS! So, you met me at Vicki's party, we talked for two minutes, I invite you to the painting party and you are ALL OVER ME?!? You want to play with the big girls? Game on. . .

First of all Vicki said "there was no good restaurants in the O.C." Why are you ragging on me and not her? There are some lovely places here, but not as many as L.A., and certainly not like NYC. This is my opinion. Lay off.

Sex shop talk. . .I was not comfortable with this conversation. I barely knew these girls and they were talking about oral sex!!! I made a joke ("I'm married and I don't have to do this anymore.") in the hopes of shutting down the conversation, and Alexis jumps down my throat . Trust me dear, I will be married in 10 years. I just don't think it's appropriate to discuss sex with strangers, especially at a party!

Then while painting, you ask me what my special gifts are, I answered the question (acting, singing, etc.), then you take me to task for it??? If you don't want to know, don't ask!

Terry walks in, and as usual, the talk turns to surgery. Yes Alexis, we know you don't need the knowledge of plastic surgery, you have had enough procedures to know what he's talking about.

Finally when Terry was making jokes about weddings and our marriage, I walked out of the room to shut it down. I didn't guzzle a drink, I had the last sip of champagne in my glass, told Brian that Terry had gone cuckoo, then I came back and tried to regroup. I didn't want to fight in front of new friends. That doesnt make me an actress, Alexis, it makes me an appropriate party hostess! Bottom line: You just met me, lay off. If you have a real issue with me, then we can talk.

Well, one more thing. . .Terry is not off the hook for his behavior. He was doing his usual "vaudeville" routine about our marriage, weddings, etc. I was really embarrassed in front of the girls. He was meeting everyone for the first time! He thinks he is being funny, and it went too far. My feelings were hurt. We discussed it later and he understands how I feel about jokes at my expense. I'm sensitive! He apologized, and, of course, I forgive him. He's a great guy and I love him dearly, but it's always good to work on your marriage and be open and honest with each other.

Shannon Settles the Score

If Andy's asking "What's the score, Shannon Beador?" Shannon thinks she's definitely won.

This is Blog #20, my last Blog for the season! The past year was been a wild ride for both me and for my family. I have come to many realizations about myself, made lifelong friends, experienced some tough moments, and embarked on a path to a more peaceful self. So to use Andy’s phrase, “What's the score, Shannon Beador?” I would say without a doubt that I have definitely won.

I am happy that the viewers got a little glimpse into my sometimes unconventional ways! For me, it's all about good energy. I love that Vicki’s business has clearly benefited from trying feng shui with Elaine Wright. If you can't get hurt, there is no reason to try anything holistic. If you actually benefit, why wouldn't anyone want to go the natural way? If my children tend to feel better after seeing Dr. Moon and not have to take antibiotics, then I am a happy mom. It's all about creating a healthy balance!

I am an open book and am often criticized for it, but I am who I am. I don't know many couples married for 13 years that have a perfect relationship. Everyone has ups and downs, and although it may be difficult and require effort, it is possible to move through it and make things better. I have said it many times in the season that divorce is not an option. I will always fight for my marriage and my family. It truly touches my heart that so many fans have been and continue to root for David and I. I am so appreciative and grateful for all of your positive comments! Thank you!

Do Tamra and Heather truly want to move forward and potentially develop a friendship with me? Only time will tell. But for now, I have amazing friends surrounding me, including Vicki Gunvalson and Lizzie Rovsek. And most importantly, I have been blessed with the most incredible family anyone could ask for. That is where all of my energy is focused.

I will never forget this entire year, both the good and the bad, because each moment took me on the journey to where I am today. And today, I am in a phenomenal and happy place. Thank you for taking this journey with me!
