The First 'Wives Club

Episode 7: Bravotv.com's Associate Editor scrubs in to assess all the surgeries on this week's episode and ponders what really is "so Heather."

Mar 20, 20120

In another sick bed in the O.C., Alexis just wants some peace peas. Jim has rationed a small snack bag of frozen peas for her nose swelling. Jim is really sure that the difference between her getting nauseous and not is eating carrots. I have not heard this wellness theory, but it sounds pretty secure. Everytime I have felt sick I have not eaten carrots (mainly because I hate them, so I never eat them), but maybe that's what has kept me from being in total health for all these years.

Besides the physical pain, Alexis is emotionally wounded that Gretchen hasn't come to visit her while her nose was healing. She did look like she needed some doting on when she went to the doctor for her after surgery exam (though the fedora is a great post-op look).

A Real Copter Out
Vicki, Tamra, and Heather arrive at the helipad to jaunt off and discuss the restaurant biz in Beverly Hills. I would be remiss to point out that one -- this is the second helicopter ride on our fair network in two days (see Bethenny Ever After), and two -- didn't you wish just a little bit that this was going to be a cross over episode and that Heather was going to visit Lisa Vanderpump at SUR? We can dream can't we?

Anyway, after taking in the sweeping views of the city, the ladies land and greet the gaggle of ladies Heather is going into business with.

Yes, Heather is not merely opening a business, she's opening a business with five other ladies. . .

Vicki and Tamra are a little dubious that these disputes won't end in wine throwing and tears. I have to say, I agree with them. Opening a restaurant is hard enough, let alone when you're adding six lady cooks in the kitchen. I think wine might end up flying by the time this whole endeavor is opened. Vicki would like them just off the bat to write up an agreement of some kind, and to start thinking of this as more of a real business and not a clubhouse.

Well, where to begin?

I actually disagree with many of you about Alexis. She is OK. No one understood really what her nasal issues where and everyone jumped in to criticized her recent surgery. Alexis, honey, don't worry, the rest are just too jelous of you. Just keep the superficiality out and you should be fine.

Tamra, dear, you are a snake! you act like someone who cares about the other friends, but in reality you will stab them at your first opportunity, how sad really. I have been watching you for a while, and the impression I get continues to worsen with time.

Heather, I am not sure why you are on this show. You look sort of fake to me. Should have stayed in BH just doing what you say you do....acting...but in a different show honey. When you speak, you sound "rehearsed" and "plain fake". I dont think your addition to the show really added anything of real importance in entertaining, sorry.

Gretchen, you rock!, pretty, smart, keep it up honey yeah!

Vicki, you are a doll, but you are too dramatic. And although I sympathize with your daughter's serious health problems, you really take things too seriously. please lighten up or just get out of the show and take care of your life. It is just a pain to watch you lately....

As for the boys....ok...you are just fillers....ha ha bye bye

I loooove Alexis!! She is spunky, always head to toe gorgeous, hard working mom, stands up for herself, not a cry baby, and above all LOYAL to her (so called) friends and family.

I, too, was hoping Lisa V. was going to make an appearance.

Dear Bravo Tv Executives,

How are you? I hope all is well in Bravo Land. I have just one teensy-weensy favor to ask--nothing major, I assure you. Well. Here goes. Wheww. Would you please, please, please buy out Alexis' contract? I'm only thinking of the good of the network, really. I am. She's just so. Oh, how do I put this delicately? She'd just sooooo Annoying. Ok. All better now.

Thank you for your time. Have a wonderful Housewives Season.

A Fan for life (if you get rid of Alexis) otherwise...

Please get Alexis off the show. Her stupidity is starting to rub off on others...especially those that keep telling her she is great this year.

Get Vicki to stop advertising her business....isn't this site supposed to be for the show! She's out of control with her blogging advertisements. Enough already!

I think the ultimate Heatherism of the episode was when she said that she could work on the restaurant while the kids were in school. Hahahaha. Does she know that restaurants are open in the evenings and on weekends? Unless she's sending her kids to a Swiss boarding school, I don't think she'll get much restaurant work done while they're "in school."

I don't really like Heather just yet. But I do hope to see Vickie and Heather get into a fight. Cuz I think Heather can hold her own against mean Vickie. She'll shut her down.

I would LOVE LOVE a Heather spin off, if only so we can see more of Mr. Dubrow - aka Terry!

Things that are sooo Heather...hmm almost everything that comes out of her mouth really. She is quite funny though.

As for Alexis' "carrot" requirement to prevent nausea - that is most likely because she will be on pain meds and those are what make you nauseous. A vicodin with no food? VOMIT

My husband and I own a few businesses and restaurant's-The 'newest' one is 26 years old and the oldest being 46 years old. We also have two school-age children to take care of. I will tell you this: It is not a part-time job and certainly isn't a hobby!

I don't care who you are, NO ONE has a million dollars IN CASH sitting around, that is simply just 'throw away' money. Not even a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon. Malpractice insurance alone can break a doctor's bank. If they do, then I'd check their books.

Terry mentioning 'investors' is the tip off. HE isn't putting the money up personally, the investors are.

Terry-stick with plastic surgery. Heather-stick to acting. You were quite talented and were in more than just one TV show. I recognized you as soon as I saw you!

Heather brings much needed class and style to this bunch of crazy women that all fight and scream at each other to be the center of attention.

I don't think Heather has a clue about the restaurant business. It has the highest failure rate & running one is not a part-time job! When I was growing up, my uncle & aunt had a "mom & pop" cafe in a small town & they worked horrendous hours. Even if you have a restaurant manager, it's not the same thing as you being there whenever it is open. Does Lisa work part-time?

Vicki advising Heather to have a business plan is a smart idea, but you saw Heather's reaction-she definitely does not like anyone telling her what to do! I have a feeling that as time goes on, Vicki & Heather will butt heads bigtime.

It did sound like Terry doesn't care about losing his investor's money if they failed in 2 years. I don't have a warm and fuzzy over Terry and Heather. I have a question, who is Sarah? Why does she have a blog on here? She seems like a nice person but Bravo is setting her up for all kinds of mean comments because noone knows who she is.

Heather is already getting the restaurant lingo down. She asked Terry to hold the baby while she "plates" the food. Speaking of Terry, I love him. He has a great sense of humor. I must have a thing for plastic surgeons because I love Adrienne's husband on RHOBH too. A comment about the other commentors. Why are you complaining about what appears to be rich people acting like rich people. Isn't this why we watch these shows. To see how the other half lives. I love their sense of self-importance! It's funny.

Okay, today is Thursday and the only "housewife" who has written a blog is the one no one knows and who is hardly ever on the show. What gives ladies?!

Did anyone pay CLOSE attention to what Heather's doctor husband said??? He said "get investors" and if you only stay open 2 years.....ehhhh.... So what. It is Not his money being used for this "pet project". Hope any prospective investors catch this clip. I sort of liked him till I saw this. What arrogance.

HEY Terry, if you really need to drop a few million, how about investing in some education bucks for some very needy kids. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Terry, you could also give Heather a nice chef to compliment that gorgeous kitchen of yours. Maybe she would like some lessons from a wonderful chef. Let those granite counters get some use will ya!!!!!

Orange County offers some great restaurants--with great views, ambience, service and food! I think most of us have the best time dining out however, because of the crowd we are with--we have all had those magical nights with just the right blend. Maybe the ladies who don't care for OC dining should rethink the company they keep--or offer.

I agree with chacha74 "Heather doesnt fit in and needs to be with the New York Gals". I bet she would not be so condescending. So tired of hearing "im an actress, i have a 14 peice band, im a comedian, a dancer and a singer and now i want to open a restaraunt so i can hang out with my girlfriends part-time and my husband wont care, he will just throw a million dollars away cause we can! It is true that people with money doesnt talk about it, its not classy, its just tacky! Heather needs to watch RHOBH and see how REAL wealthy people behave, and she needs to see how hard Lisa works in her restaurant! Heather is starting to remind me of Dana/Pam. New money brags...old money doesnt need too!!!

Only time will tell whether Heather and her 5 friends can successfully run a busy restaurant. They certainly need to hire a good team to plan, design, and run the restaurant as I don't think any of the ladies actually want to get their hands dirty. The most cringe-worthy scene of the entire show for me was listening to Heather & Terry discuss the restaurant deal, how much money the investment would take and if, after a year or so the place went belly-up....oh well, I guess it's just a tax write-off. What's a million dollars to people like that? That cavalier attitude is not exactly what most people in this economy can relate to, even people with money. If you make careless or unwise investments or spend more than you take in you don't stay wealthy for very long. But I forgot-- he's a plastic surgeon in Southern California. Cha-Ching!!

Heather is a breath of fresh air. If she did go to New York, Luann and Sonia would need Jill, Kelly and Ramona to make it a fair fight.

Never go into business with friends. You can go into business with someone and become friends, but you don't go into business with friends if you want to continue the friendship. Another piece of advice? Those women need to read Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain to get a clue as to what's involved in actually running a restaurant. Right now, they're clueless!

personally i think Heather doesn't fit in with these girls. She should go back to New York. I would love to see her tangle with Sonia or Luann..

I actually found this episode sooooo refreshing! There wasn't one argument, no screaming, it was GREAT! I like the fact that we saw what their lives are that do not include every episode where someone is in someones face. Brianna's situtation is scarey and it was nice to see a humane side of Vicki. I think because she is so business oriented, she gets a raw deal sometimes. Alexis obviously needed the sinus surgery, there is no denying that. However, she is a boring, clueless, dramaqueen and what I would give to out her and have either Peggy or Laurie (remember her?) back. Those two seemed real. Tamra's surgery is commendable. It is great to see her realize that she doesn't need to have a fake body. I like Vicki, Tamra and Heather the best.
