True Embarrassment

Vicki explains how she feels after the bunco fight.

Mar 13, 2012

My thought on the never-ending bunco episode is "true embarrassment." Am I disgusted at myself and how I lost my temper with Gretchen and Slade? One word -- absolutely!

I felt, after watching this week's episode, Gretchen and Slade were both just trying to make a case for their innocence for Slade's past child support issues. Fact is, once they found out that Brooks had been arrested for back child support several years ago, they felt it was a way to make Slade look better or equal by bringing Brooks into it.

Instead of questioning Brooks directly, they decided to attack me when I was most vulnerable and going through a very rough time in my life. I guess the saying that some people love kicking you when your down is true with Slade. Class, integrity, and character are something you cannot buy or wish for. . .you either have it or you don't and for Slade to do what he did in front of 300 people was disgusting and made me very sad.

I've never commented before but can't stand it any more! Its called karma Vicki! You're getting back everything you've dished out.

Vicki, You are the pot calling the kettle black. You had no problem kicking Slade when he was down, and going thru his own problems with his very ill son. You want compassion yet you fail to give compassion. Vicki, I have seen you every season, and you have gotten more and more uble standard MEAN. Be careful, you reap what you sow!

I think it's sad that we see you always fighting or talking bad or judgeing everyone, I believe you should try to be nicer since your own daughter is going through a lot at this point in life, hope goes well for you

U need to stop talking about him. When they bring up your man and his problems u don't like it. Now u know how it feels. It was never your busy. If u can dish it u have to take

Please stop filming the show. I can't watch another season if you continue to film. You are drama!! Everything is so dramatic, and you are a broken mess. Please do the right thing and walk away. Work on your issues in private.

Vicki...love you tons...brains plus ....keep up the smiles

Vicki I hope all goes well for your family. I enjoy watching you each week. Don't let other people get to you, you are a good person and a hard worker. My husband passed away suddenly 5 years ago, we were married 33 years and if I didn't have my kids and grandkids I don't think I would have made it. The fact that your family means so much to you is touching. Because in the end they are the ones that keep us going. Take care.

"I feel like throwing up" is NOT what someone wants to hear when they're being taken to the hospital for major surgery. Who needs that kind of support? I certainly hope Briana's surgery went well, though, and she is recovering well.

Vicki,

Read Gretchen's blog... She outlines what she's feeling pretty well... I think you'll understand where's she's coming from...

You clearly were out of line... No way to get around that.

Wow- I was hopeful that you saw where you went wrong in this episode..but alas your blog was once again all about you. Just face it..it' always all about you! Even Briana said "it's always about my mother". Shame on you , invest in a good mirror and take a good look at yourself. You won't like what you see.

Really Vicki, he did a comedy show in the front of 300 people and you bash him season after season to millions of viewers and fans. You always want to check out of the fight when you're losing or talk so loud that you can't hear what the other person is saying. Stop saying that Gretchen supports Slade not paying child support because she does'nt support that. Now that your boyfriend has caught up with his child support and did his time behind bars that it puts him above Slade, you are your own worst enemy

Vicki, In your own words, "Class, integrity, and charactor are something you can not buy or wish for......either you have it or you don't".....YOU DON'T! Your daughter has more, class, integrity and charactor than you will ever have. Learn from her.

I have never left a comment but after watching tonights show and then reading your blog, I couldn't help but leave one this time. I must admit I really want to be Team Vicki, there are some moments when you seem like a sweet person and your relationship with your daughter (and son) are absolutely amazing. BUT, you never seem to own up to your own actions. Why is that? I watch season after season and think "she's such a hypocrite" and/or "she can dish it but she can't take it". I don't understand how you can watch the show and never seem to reflect and see the other persons POV or realize that maybe ... just maybe, you were in fact wrong or could have handled a situation differently. Maybe you should watch the previous episodes and pay close attention to what you say and what you do, they almost never match.

PS: you've got that victim role down perfectly!

vicki i think and hope you and alexis can build a friendship.gretchen did throw her under the bus.i hope when you and lex become friends tamra can stay out of it.alexis is being bullied.she was talked about on last show awful to and gretchen was laughing at the table.god bless you and alexis. trust the lord with all.are prayers are with your family in this trying time.

Vicki, I so understand worrying about your child's health but I do have to say that I think that you should have talked about all of your worries and concerns with a friend and not with your daughter. I think that you should have just kept telling her that everything was going to be alright and be positive. I think that you seem like a great mom but in this case I think that you were too self involved.

It is always about you, you are very controlling, exaime yourself,

I luv Slade t-shirt!!!!!!!

I seriously think that you have become a better person compared to season 1. If I may suggest something (for what it's worth), before saying something, pause first, breathe, and think of how to say things without yelling so as to not escalate an argument...also, if it is only the other person screaming, they look like the idiot and not you.

You're daughter is a terrific person. Don't take this the wrong way, but look at it as a compliment to you for raising her right, but it is sometimes hard to believe that she is your daughter because she is so calm and such a sincere person. Even from day 1 season 1, she had been such a "sane" person and so well balanced. I wish and hope she recovers and is doing fine.

Wait a minute. You're jumping on Gretchen for things Slade said at the Improv...don't replay you're skewed version and think we all will agree. One word: DVR. You're the one who started in on Gretchen over what Slade said, saying "what man would say that". The doe eye, victim role is making you look foolish.

One by one you craft what was said and why you felt you were always right on target. News flash...don't judge another until you've walked in their shoes. It's clear you're dating a man who has been a deadbeat father. There is NO excuse for "getting behind" and then becoming a deadbeat. NONE. As a mother who has dealt w/ a deadbeat, I know.

I have never commented on a blog before, but for some strange reason I really feel compelled to say publicly what an absolute HYPOCRITE Vicki is. I am truly baffled that she just cannot see how the very things she is accusing other people of doing are the exact same things she has done countless times. I really don't get it. Even the people who edit the show seem to be purposely making the point clear as day (like they do when they show a clip that completely contradicts a person's version of events immediately after that cast member gets the story wrong). I was so disappointed to read this blog. I thought maybe Vicki would be remorseful after she saw herself biting Gretchen's head off about Slade for insulting her looks when she has called Alexis white trash. I love that Gretchen and Tamra have owned it when they have been in the wrong. Why is Vicki the only one that seems incapable of showing any remorse for the awful things she has said about people?

If nothing else, watching this show and Vicki makes me want to be more forgiving of others and own up to my mistakes so I don't end up looking like Vicki does in this episode.

Vicki, you might be right about Slade wanting air time, but the fact remains that you are dating a man who did the same thing as Slade. The fact that Brooks has a job and Slade doesn't is neither here nor there. You are a hypocrite, no matter how you spin it. Sorry. That's a fact.

Vicky- don't you at all think that Slade possibly could have been behind on his payments? And when you say that Brooks is none of their business- isn't it the same? I agree they should have never gone that far and his improv was not funny, but you judged him the minute they were together and now you expect them to just take it? Even though you can't? I just think that there is a little owning-up that needs to be done.

I surely hope your daughter is going to be okay. Reading through your blog, you mentioned her then continued on hawking your wines, book, and insurance company. Gretchen has every right to call you a hypocrite and the poll on "Watch What Happens" adds credence to that fact.

It's about time Vicki got a taste of her own medicine. She has always been a troublemaker. What you dish is what you deserve to get back. Stand up for once and not nitpick about why it's not appropriate for you. Slade, not a favorite of mine, and not really funny, but you deserved it, and your friend Rick-------are you for real?

Quit trying to play the victim Vicki! It's ok for you to stick your nose in other peoples' business, but when the finger is pointed at you, you want people to stay out of your life! Wow... You should rethink your statement.

I am sorry Vicki is going through a difficult time right now. Perhaps she will be more empathetic to others in the future. She has behaved like a mean girl in the past. She treated Gretchen very disrespectfully when her fiancé was ill. Vicki seems to always have an excuse for her bad behavior. How about her treatment of Donn? In fact, I would rather see Donn on the show than Vicki--at least he has a sense of humor! Perhaps it would be in everyone's best interest if she left the show. Let's get a real business woman in there who has some discipline and class.

oh vickie, I do believe you are a strong and indepent mom and a great mom!! however.........you need to gain alittle insight and stop always playing victim. you saying anything about slade is just as bad as him saying you look like miss piggy(dont listen to him you are beautiful) Please just own up to that so you can move on!!!!! and when you were driving you daughter to surgery, you should have 100% put your own fears aside. you are strong and you should have let that shine through when your daughter needed the most!!

It's all about KARMA! Funny how you didn't like spade talking about you in front of 300ppl but you spoke of him in front of millions of views. You're a drama queen and no one should feel bad for you!! I'm so glad you finally got put in your place!

Vicki, You were set up by Tamra. Anyone would react in that situation. Lesson learned? Tamra is not your friend! She doesn't know how to be a true friend. She thrives on drama. So, you just stay true to yourself and your family. You are kind and good at heart. I hope your daughter is feeling better.

It's time for you to leave the show.

Forget all the drama.....What's important is your daughter. Is she ok? I hope everything is going well with her.

Vicki, you are the original and are loved!!!

VIcki, I am sorry to hear about all you have endured over the last year...but you will come out of it a stronger and wiser person....Now, to let you know how I feel about something I have observed over the years. I really think you need to see other sides of issues...they can't always be one-sided. I know that noone on the show has been innocent throughout but the difference is they no when to apologize and forgive..that is key to friendship. Having empathy and sympathy for others is a great quality we should all strive for. Knowing when to say we are wrong and working on loyalty and trust is a great component. Others DO have family issues in their lives as well and sometimes need support and love unconditionally also. There can't alway be a (but they said this), (but they aren't loyal enough), (but what about me and my situation), sometimes you have to put others feelings and thoughts first before your own...I think that is a good lesson in life. FOOD FOR THOUGHT!!! Bless You and Your Family

you are so crazy. slade and gretchen are none of your business. you are the oldest in the group and act the most immature. how do you not think that you are intrusive to other peoples problems.

Are you serious Vicki? First of all, I am not a fan of Slade at all. However, your hypocrisy has me stunned. You bag on almost everyone and always talk about Slade behind his back on camera. I am sorry you have so much going on right now, but please, it is not an excuse for poor your own behavior.

Vicki you used to be my favorite housewife, but this season you have changed for the worst and you think you can do and say what you want and no one else can and i agree you are very hypocritical this season.

Vicki, You still don't get it that what you've been doing all along is bunk that doesn't need a bunco party. You are two-faced and you've always taken stabs at Slade just because of rumors. Do you really believe that Slade has to report to you about his working or how much income he makes? What do you think the comedy club was? It was a way to make money. You make stabs all the time with no foundation in truth and it's about time you got some garbage back in your face. You make your little Bilble studies and prayers look like total irony with your selfish attacks. Grow up!

AND you're absolutely right, you cannot buy class...all the money you have in the world will never buy YOU any.

Bravo please post this!!!!!

In one of your paragraphs you stated, " I would never ignore other people's feelings or concerns." I almost spit out my drink when I read that. You have never thought about Slade's feelings when bringing up his child support issues and calling him a bad dad. You want him and Gretchen to stay out of Brooks' child support issues yet you continuously bring up his child support issues. You say that they don't know the whole story about Brooks' issues, but guess what Vicki?? You don't know the whole story with Slade's issues. You may think that you do, but unless you're there on a day to day basis you don't know. On the episode you stated that because of financial hardships Brooks fell behind on his child support, but now he is caught up. That's great that Brooks is caught up, but has it ever occurred to you that it might take Slade a little longer to catch up on his. You also constantly say that Slade doesn't work, but has it ever occurred to you that just because you don't know where he works doesn't mean that he doesn't work. We don't know where Brooks works or what he does so by your standard does that mean he doesn't work. You ALWAYS want people to have sympathy for you and what you're going through, but I have yet to ever see you show compassion towards someone else. Why is it okay for you to constantly bash Slade, but because he's a man he's not supposed to say anything negative about you? You are the BIGGEST hypocrite I have ever seen.

Typically, I would never respond to or comment on any of these reality shows, but since I have been watching the "Real" Housewives of the O.C., I have decided I must comment on these premature antics that these women continue to relish. I must agree with Gretchen Rossi.

Vicki,

Here is some food for thought... "people that live in glass houses, should not throw stones" as well as when you are pointing a finger at someone, remember that there are 3 more pointing back at you. I feel for a women at your age, you cannot afford to look ignorant and specially on national television. You should be embarrassed for how you acted for the simple fact that you turn around and talk about someone else's business that does not concern you, yet you get upset when the same thing happens to you. We call this KARMA, have you heard of it? Have you also heard about the word "hypocrit?" I am 27 years old with BA and I work a full time job that out numbers the amount of stress you have in your life, as well as being a former Navy wife and then being divorced, have everything taken from you, and then completely starting over. Your life is no where near as bad as it could be, so the excuse of "I'm a victim and I am fagile" does not constitute for you acting like you are a bully and picking on people because you are a lost soul. I do not pitty someone who cannot have sympathy for anyone, yet expects people to understand what you are going through in your life. You get what you put in life. Most people who live in the "real world" or who doesn't live in California, does not walk around with this entitlement that you seem to think you are owed. Sorry, honey, but that is just not how it works. The world has been watching you for quite sometime and more and more you seem to speak of situations you know nothing about, have verbal diarrhea, or cannot pick and choose your battles.

So, my question I want to ask you is why do you care that Slade made jokes about how you look, when you have gone on national television and talked about his personal life? Are you starting to see where this is going? Surely, you are a smart woman, since you own your own business, you can add correct?

I would suggest that you focus on your life and issues and pay less attention to other's. It would behoove you to do so because God knows you are the main one with issues.

Vicky I have watched the show from day 1, and you have always been one of my favorites. But you have become very self absorbed and mean spritied in the past few years. You have bad mouthed Slade for years on national t.v., yet you blast him for turning the table in a comedy club. You were completely unfair to him and Gretchen at the bunco party. I understand you are going through a lot, but that is not an excuse to treat others badly.

I have been thinking of Briana and wonder how her surgery went. Is she cancer free?

Vicki,

First of all it is obvious you love your daughter. I think the comments Brianna & Gretchen made were just to state that you can turn situations that on love you, but aren't about you, into all about you. That appears true by the way you are portrayed on the show.

As for the Slade situation - you have got to let that go. When you are in the public eye, you will be scrutinized, criticized & made to be the butt of jokes- engaging someone in a battle about that will only lead to you looking bad. Forgiveness is freedom.

As for the child support - tred lightly. It is not your place to judge Slade, nor is it appropriate. I'm sure when you passed judgment on him, you never thought you'd fall for a guy that did the same thing - maybe worse, since he went to jail. You said Brooks paid back support etc, well maybe Slade is or will too - butt out! It's not your business or right to interfere with parental duties. That is messing with families. This whole subject is the pot calling the kettle black...

Hi Vicki! I watch the show faithfully and just felt the need to let you know that I think you are a wonderful person! Your views and overall outlook on life inspire me to be a better person. I am a 37-year-old who just had a baby girl in December of last year. She'll be 13 weeks tomorrow. As I watch the show, I love seeing the conversations you have with Briana. I always listen to advice you give her as I think you are a wonderful mother and value your insight. It is my hope that I can establish and maintain the same kind of relationship with my daughter. Thank you for being you and always being someone to look up to. :) I will pray that all is well with Briana. Stay positive, Jennifer

You have got major problems and need to get help!

Gretchen was right! You had no business talking about Slade and his child support issues! But you did and when she raises this in your current situation to illustRate how hypocritical you are you freak out and make really stupid excuses! Just own it! You were wrong to talk about something you know nothing about! It was hurtful to Slade and his kids JUST LIKE its hurtful to Brooks!

It's really tacky to use your blog and a commercial advertisement for your insurance business! Yuck!!!
