Leave Vicki Alone

Alexis wishes someone had just been straight with Vicki and the clambake and reflects on her tough time with Jim.

By Alexis Bellino

I felt bad for Vicki this entire episode. I think it shows a lot of guts to walk outside of your own home only two weeks after surgery. Yes, Vicki is definitely swollen, but she is a much braver person than me -- and I commend her for going to the party.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on  Peacock and the Bravo App.

It was ridiculous for everyone to stand around and gossip about Vicki and how swollen she was rather than just asking her what she did. It probably would have broken the ice and helped if one of the women would have pulled her aside and acted like they cared to know what Vicki had just done to her face. There is definitely no hiding it, so may as well confront it. And what if, by some chance, her face would have stayed that swollen forever. Wouldn’t they have felt bad for gossiping about it behind her back if that were the case?

The badgering of Vicki doesn’t stop with her surgery either. It continues with her relationship status with Brooks. I completely disagree when Gretchen claims that Vicki is lying about her relationship. Vicki is simply being vague, and it's because no matter what answer she gives to them she is judged for it. Yes, Vicki and Brooks are on-again-off-again a lot, but she is being guarded when they ask her, and I can hardly blame her. Vicki acts vague about it because she knows Gretchen is not a true friend and she is tired of being judged about her relationship.

Eddie has to leave for the city council meeting. . .kuddos Eddie! I have to admit I would have made Jim leave for that meeting too. I belong in the kitchen, Jim belongs at City Council. LOL. Congratulations to Eddie and Tamra for getting their permits! That is a very frustrating and difficult process to go through, and Jim and I know that all too well with these Sky Zone openings.

It's touching to watch Vicki and Tamra throughout this episode. You can see it in both of their eyes that they really still care about one another. But you can also see that there is SO much pain on both sides. I was relieved in the wine cellar when they both admitted that they were sorry and did not want to end their friendship in this hateful manner. I know we have a full season ahead of us to see the turbulance of their friendship, but I think everyone in America agrees with me when I say I want to see Vicki and Tamra work it out. They have been through too much together, and life is too short.

Ugh, do I really need to comment on this next topic? Yes I do, because I am disgusted by it. I will leave it to this: people that make a living on TV or radio (or anywhere) by insulting, demeaning or name-calling another person to increase their own personal ratings are bottom-feeders...the lowest form of life. Just ask Kathy Griffin. She was the queen of the bottom feeders last year. Hmmm, wonder what she is doing now? Anything for a buck. Unfortunately it seems this is becoming "acceptable" in our society. I don’t stand for this and I never will.

OK there! I said what I felt, and that is all the energy that topic deserves, so now on to my next topic. . .which is happy! Jim and I at salsa class is hysterical. So it's obvious we can't really dance, but boy did we have fun! That was the best date night. Too bad I haven't been able to get him back there again. LOL.

Watching our dance lesson reminded me how Jim and I were when we first married. Jim and I had a rough time last year. We were not connected the way we have been in the past, and my husband was quieter than he had ever been before. He told me last year after the market crashed and we lost money on our home that he felt like he rolled the car window down and threw money out it.

Although we were financially secure, he couldn’t focus on the fact that we had many good investments. He was too mad at himself, and no matter what our status, it still isn't fun to lose money.

So last year, when Jim really needed me to be his support, his rock, I wasn't there for him. I was so consumed with the kids, my dress lines and dealing with the my own personal roller coaster (with the way the women) that my plate was too full. I feel terrible for that. I didn’t realize it until we were already through that year and into this year. I am so grateful that he put his mind to Sky Zone and made it happen.

The Sky Zone location you see in this episode is our San Diego location which is 60 miles away, so it was the first time I had ever seen it! It is so big and bright and happy. I am so impressed with Jim. When I pulled up and saw Sky Zone it almost felt like a dream. It took months to get it open, so to finally see it completed was incredible. There were so many struggles for him and his partner to get the Sky Zones opened. Jim had so many naysayers telling him he couldn’t do it, there were so many hurdles he had to jump and obstacles he had to dodge. . .and he prevailed! Now they are opening locations number three and four. I am so proud of him.
