After having a very successful 1st week it's hard for people not to self-sabotage and stay on track with the program.
My concerns here:
Mandy - Can her family allow her to do this for herself, her husband doesn't let her carry in the groceries. We are giving Mandy much more than groceries to handle here.
Shay and Kim - Do they enable each other's behavior concerning food and exercise? Can they become a supportive mom and daughter team?
Bryan - Time with Bryan at Jackie's house was really good for us. I find he has a tendency to push me away. I'm happy to hear he is doing this for himself and for his relationship.
Nikki and Joe - Really happy that Nikki let Joe in during their Griffith Park workout, nice to see Joe put winning aside and sensitively pushing and supporting Nikki along. Nice to see Nikki fall into her workout like she fell into that 3rd party the night before.
Workout Tips (these should be obvious but obviously are not):
If you're wearing your sunglasses while working out, you are not working out to intensity.
If you are able to read during your workout, you are not working out to intensity.
When at the gym stay focused on the workout.
Have you realized that not all these people are going to be physically able to withstand these workouts? It is very easy for someone your age and physical shape to think that with a little hard work it can be done for anyone, but honestly, it cannot...after the age of 45, if you have not been a gym fanatic during at least from your early thirties, it is extremely taxing on the body...I think you trainers need to spend some time in a physical therapy setting and talk to some of the well intentioned people in their late 40's and fifties and find out some of the serious injuries they sustained while trying to get fit after 45...I do notice something about most of these workout shows, it seems that the majority of the contestants are still in the thirty, early forty range when women still have estrogen reserves and men are still making testosterone on normal levels....you all know that the metabolism slows down in the mid forties, so I will hand that to you, there is obviously knowledge that you might fail if you choose anyone whose metabolism is not up to par....
I think it's a great show but isn't taken as seriously as it should. It's a great oppurtunity that all these people are given and they should take more advantage of the situation and their trainers. Love the show.
Ive dropped 25 pounds then found myself finding excuses not to go to the gym....After seeing the show and now am addicted to watching i got reinspired to start back on my weight loss goals. I have a long ways to go but am picking up tips from jackie and pushing myself when i workout at the gym and giving it my all.
Just a general comment for the show:
Why isn't anyone else blogging? Why doesn't Jackie have a blog? This kind of well...blows that not everyone is blogging because i really want to know the reaction to seeing the show. Oh well.
I am addicted to the show, the workouts I have began implimenting them in my workouts . I am looking forward to the results.
Craig, I do not believe I could stay focused on the workouts with you training me. I have a hard time staying focused on the show when you are on the screen. I am curious to see each of these individuals personal growth on this show. It has been fascinating thus far. Whip them in to shape Craig and I will keep watching!
Yeah, I know. I live in Ok so too far away, but I would love any opportunity to work out with Jackie and wouldn't waste any time.
Okay why were some of the people cast? If they didn't wantt o really do the program, get some more deserving people. It's a waste of everyone's time when one cast member (Nikki) parties all night and won't give up the drinking to take this seriously.
