If someone isn't ready to make this change for themselves, I cannot do my job.
Shay let her ego get in the way of her gym workout this week. She has mentioned her trust issues before and needs to understand that she is in the hands of caring professionals who know this process. I have a feeling she is sensitive this week from losing her mom on the show the prior week. She's too pretty to be acting this way.
I'm really surprised to see how Nikki, Joe, and Bryan treated Stacy at that dinner. This is highschool behavior at its worst.
I feel it necessary to state that Polycystic ovary disease (PCOS) is a real disease. It effects 1 in 10 women in America. To all PCOS ladies out there, you are not alone! PCOS is only an obstacle in your way, you can succeed in gaining control of your health and physique goals.
PCOS tips - Get control of your sleep issues, get your vitamin D levels checked, eat high protein meals, especially in the evening.
Stay Strong inside and out!
Watching the therapy session all I can say is how much I love these people, and how proud I am of them for opening up and being so vulnerable. What brave clients we have.
I leave you this week with:
Use your emotions to aid your workout not hinder it.
And since the exercise in therapy this week being child pictures, I thought I'd share one of mine.
Hi Craig: Enjoy watching you on the show. You are my inspiration to adhere to my daily 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. Thanks!
Hi Craig! Just want you to know that you and Jackie have inspired me! I have 60 lbs to lose and your show is sooo motivating! I make believe its me you guys are yelling at! lol I record it every week and every day I get up and watch it... while i do my stretching, ab work and walking/jogging around my living room...for the whole hour.. So far i've lost 6lbs and this is week 2. i'll keep you posted on how i do! THANKS!
Thank you so much for tackling the topic of PCOS on your show. One in ten women have the syndrome, and because it interferes with metabolism and weight, it is often difficult for them to find credibility when they reach out for help. Stacy's journey is a wonderful opportunity to validate and open dialogue for the many women who likely are watching your show and completely relating to her struggles.
Craig, you are incredible. You keep pushing them beyond their perceived limits. It is about time I do the same. I keep making excuses, but after watching this episode; it is time for me to get off the couch and get moving.
I think you are a great addition to the show!! I hope to one day get to train with you!! I think that you will be able to help motivate me!! You seem really cool.. love the Show!!!!!
You are doing the perfect job for your personality. You are tough, but supportive and empathetic. If only all people that try to get healthy had a trainer like you!
Is it really appropriate for you to yell at clients and swear at them?? If you ever called me a "bitch" like you did to Bryan at the Rose Bowl, I would have you fired.
Is this the behavior of a professional fitness trainer?
Awesome show! A few years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS and my doctor told me I would never be able to have children. Then I lost well over 100 pounds (all lifestyle changes~ diet and exercise~ NO SURGERY!) and now I have two beautiful boys. =) It is a very real and humbling disease. At first I went into a depression and then I got angry. I threw myself a poor me, why me, pity party. But then I redirected my anger and used it to fuel my own success. I pushed myself harder and harder and made working out my outlet. Mad or just need to clear my mind? Go for a run. Anxious? Pilates or yoga. Bored? Go for a walk. Frustrated? Push ups and tummy crunches. Etc... My diet was a little harder to get under control. See most of my family members are stress eaters~ I am a stress starver! (I also had some issues in high school w/ eating disorders and diet pills so food has always been a struggle for me.) I was working full time, taking care of a newborn on my own, taking classes at the gym 6 days a week, and working out at home. Talk about over kill! But I wasn't eating enough so basically it was like trying to drive a car with no gas in it. My diet still isn't as healthy as it could or should be but I make up for it with extra workouts. No one is perfect 100% of the time and I have learned to back off and not be so hard on myself that I end up failing. It's all about setting realistic goals. I look at my "before" pic often to keep me motivated! My second son was born 8 days ago (my 2nd c~section) so I have a lot of work to do! Wish me luck =)
As a woman struggling with PCOS, i just want to thank you for bringing something like this to the surface. I struggle every day with this disease and I just want to thank you again for letting others out there know that they aren't alone.
Love the show. Can you guys post the recipes Jackie and you are using online and have a section just on that - say the shake, what you guys gave to the clients in your first shopping bag that you guys delivered to their houses.... etc. Looking at all the blogs and reader emails there seems to be a huge demand for this particular information. Please!
I've got my whole family watching the show and wanting to eat like Jackie says. Help us lose weight and get healthier.
Thanks so much,
Wow - how much more of Nikki's drama do we have to take? I know you guys are there to help everyone, but there comes a time when you have to cut loose those who aren't taking it seriously. Nikki doesn't have it in her head yet that she's ready to make these changes and until she does, she won't do a thing to lose the weight. I know. I've been there. I came up with all kinds of excuses why I couldn't lose weight and change the bad habits, and until I got my head straight about my health and my weight, I wasn't ready to do anything about it. Once I got my head in the right place, I went at it from all directions and have lost 35 lbs. and feel SO much healthier and have a much more positive outlook. If Nikki simply isn't ready mentally, she'll continue to be dead weight (no pun intended) for the rest of the team. She shouldn't be there until she's truly ready to do the work, stop with the drama and the lip gloss, stop disrespecting you, Jackie and the entire team, and get serious.
Craig, I live in a real small town and I lost my Dad to cancer about 7 years ago and as a result of all the emotional stress, I gained a ton of weight. I weighed over 400 lbs. I truly believe emotions cause addictions, whether it be drugs, alcohol, or in my case food. Anyway, I woke up one day a few years ago and realized I was going to die if I didn't change my habits....I was miserable and at the lowest point in my life (and also, totally in the closet). I started walking and eating better and eventually lost over 140 pounds and am now just under 300. I'm 6'2 and carry it well, but I hit a plateau. I always watched Jackie's show "work out" on Bravo and "the Biggest Loser" on NBC and got somewhat motivated to work harder....but then I saw you on her new show "Thintervention". I gotta tell you Craig, you are motivating me more than ever. You have the perfect physique and are hot as hell, plus you seem like such a fun and caring guy. I hardly ever write emails to people I don't know, but I just wanted to let you know that you are helping me more than you know (and probably many more than you can possibly realize) just by being you. I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! MUCH LOVE and MASSIVE HUG -Scott
