Please let Dr. Ramani issue a 4 word prescription for how to lose weight:
Eat less, exercise more.
So simple. But in fact it may be the most challenging, painful and complicated thing most of us will ever take on. Welcome to Jackie Warner’s THINtervention. You have met 8 people who are publicly willing to take on what millions are doing in private. In the next few months, as you accompany all of us on this journey – their struggles will mirror those of every frustrated fat burner out there.
Not only did we meet them but we learned how they gained the weight.
Habit and emotion.
Jackie I sure do miss the former cast, the more realistic view of who you are outside the dominant image that you always want to portray, and most of all, watching you twinge when your other castmates ie, employees got more camera time than you. But I'm sure that the adjustment in format serves you well...you are always the front and center mentor.
Jackie called herself a nutrition expert on the show. I just want to know what Jackie's credentials are in the area of nutrition. We know she can make smoothies. Why she didn't include a true expert like a Registered Dietitian to help with the diets?

I have to say I really enjoyed the first episode and have decided to follow along with it at home. I recently gave birth to twins and need to get back into a healthy lifestyle but am finding it hard to focus on my diet and exercise. I'm tired all of the time and I'm not sure if it's lack of sleep, taking care of twins or my lack of healthy eating or maybe a combination of everthing. I enjoyed a lot of the good workout and eating tips on the show so keep'em coming! Can't wait for the next episode!!
I hope you will address PCOS more. I have been diagnosed since I was in my late 20's and have pretty much decided I'll never lose the weight again. It's very frustrating when you follow an eating plan and exercise and can only lose 5 or maybe 10 pounds.
I Liked the show, motivated me to get started again on healthy eating, get rid of the sugar, and exercise. I like the format....seems to focus more on the people and the process of weight loss rather than Jackie's gym, services, and drama in her life in the the last series, although I did like her last series. The group thereapy is also helpful to listen to. Although there will probably be drama coming...it is a reality show... so far it seems like it could be a show to help people like me trying to lose weight.
Reminds me a little of Biggest Loser.....do I dare say that? Without the big stage etc. I like it better though because it's not a competition per say....I don't care for biggest loser.
I'm on the same boat as Sharona. I wish someone would do a show to help those of us who don't have a ton of weight to lose and have small kids and other responsibilities. Jackie should travel and stay in the home of someone who needs to figure out how to fit in an effective 1 hour workout and who isn't drinking their calories or over eating. I have been on oral steroids for almost 3 years and put on 50 pounds. I've lost 30 but still have 20 to go. Even working out, being real about what my caloric intake is and being careful that I am making healthy choices. Some of the people she is currently working with would lose 20 pounds in a month if they just cut out the alcohol.
I have to say, this show is such a reality check! Amazing! being a 20 year old overweight woman is hard, and i know in my heart that this is not where my life should be..... i cant say that i've failed at dieting, cause i havent been focused enough to say that i've even tried.... sure ive walked, ran, and cut back on what i eat, but in the end i always find some sort of reason to quit... NO MORE EXCUSES! After watching how much it takes to burn off two cookies, i am inspired....(and horrified) so i say this.... HELLO NEW SUPPORT GROUP!!!! losing weight is not only what i want, but what i need!!!! thank you to Jackie, Her amazing team and Bravo,.... GOTTA GET TO IT!
Sharona,
What is your speed and incline on the treadmill? My brother told me to set my speed over 4.0 and incline at 4.2 or more and do it for an hour. Once I changed, I started loosing weight. Also change up your exercise do other cardio like an aerobics class, step class, and so on. Also something simple like swimming or treading water is great for the entire body. Just some tips I've heard and done which help out.
sugar is absolutely my downfall. I love it! I am active, I try to get to the gym at least 4 mornings a week for about an hour of workout. I don't really over eat, but wha I do eat is crap! I have a good 20 lbs that I need and want off. It is so hard to tell myself that frosting on that cupcake is bad, don't do it. Help me say no to sugar!
I completely understand your PCOS frustration. Not a lot of people know how difficult it is to have this condition, and what people don't know their first instinct is to judge. "She must be cheating with food", "She must not be exercising enough". It's an uphill battle and I got diagnosed at the age of 13!! I hope you keep watching and know that you are not alone in your stuggle.
all the best
Stacy :)
I love this show..so far..i agree with the woman who spoke about the fear of being thin and actually happy...i am in the same boat..it is a scary thought for a person who has been over weight for all of their lives!! I am glad that the therapy is available because that is the key..not to mention cutting the sugar..did anyone see Drew Carey who lost 80lbs in 6 months cutting out sugar..im just saying..and of course exercise...
WOW! Bravo really got it right with this show. This is the first weight loss type of show that actually gives advice without too many subliminal advertisements. That really gives this show integrity. Since listening to Jackies advice from the first episode last week... Ive already lost 8 pounds. This is a show that is truly dedicated to speaking to the audience and I appreciate Bravo for that!
I'm going thru the same struggles and Jackie is doing a great job at getting through to her group. I love her techniques. This really influenced me to just cut out fast food and sugar. It's working well. Love this show and the people on it.
Nice try to recover from total disaster of last show's attempts, but shouldn't you be showing and referring to actual medical personnel to let folks know that everyone should be evaluated by a medical professional before embarking on any extreme exercise program? This was a major problem in the last effort; Jackie Warner making ridiculous claims about her medical training and abilities...really dangerous stuff.
Sharona - what is your eating like? Are you eating clean? Are you eating healthy? You can workout until you are blue in the face but if your eating stinks, then it won't matter. Cut down on sugary stuff, don't eat processed or fried foods, eat lots of fruits and veggies, eat at least 4-5 small meals throughout the day. Pack a cooler with healthy foods when you go out on trips/errands/outings. Go on the internet and do a search of Eating Clean and healthy foods. You will find a lot of helpful info and a lot of great recipes. Instead of using butter, use olive oil. Substitute ice cream with cottage cheese. Eat breakfast. Meals should consist of protein + carbs + healthy fats (olive oil, nuts). Good luck!
