Chef Joël Robuchon Removed These 2 Simple Ingredients From His Diet and Lost 60 Pounds

"I have so much energy," says the acclaimed French chef.

Joël Robuchon has lost the equivalent of half a person after taking two key ingredients out of his diet four years ago. The acclaimed French chef told the New York Post he's "too lazy to work out," but removing butter and oil from his diet has helped him lose 60 pounds — even without exercise.

Prior to making the change, he had high cholesterol, high blood pressure and high blood sugar, and always woke up with pounding headaches and a profound lack of energy.

“Headaches, gone,” he told the publication of how he feels now. “I have so much energy… I wouldn’t be able to live the way I do now without my diet.” He even says he doesn't feel jet lagged when he travels these days.

He starts his day with an alkaline breakfast of organic tomatoes and avocados and typically eats lean proteins and vegetables for lunch and dinner (with an occasional cheat bite).

It's an approach he calls "eating nutritiously with pleasure."
