Team Top Chef

John Tesar will be missed... by one person at least.

on Jan 2, 20130

While I was disappointed in his absurd pickle predicament in his final moments on the show, I'm bummed to see John go, honestly. I know that some of the chefs (and viewers) had their differences with him, but he's extremely talented, and i think he kept everyone on their toes. With one of this season's most divisive characters gone, I wonder who they'll all turn on next!

I also can't wait to see who made the matzoh balls that have Gail so riled up in the preview for next week's episode!

Until then, Have a Nosh

I didn't dislike John. He had a somewhat abrasive personality, but I think deep down he's all right. & he was obviously one of the most talented chefs this season. The Jimmy Sears thing was really interesting! I'm gonna have to look into that a little more!

Please don't put the name of the eliminated chef in the sub-title. It spoiled it for me.

I'd like to know how Kristen won when she forgot to put sauce on one of the judges plates. I would think that would automatically disqualify a win.

Too bad that barking up Josie's tree was a non-culinary Season 10 moment. Otherwise, I am trying hard to suppress the hope that the final will be all-female - Kristen, Brooke and Lizzie - as the Armageddon of Restaurant Wars awaits all.

I think the "Big moment" of this season now has to be when John, commenting about the pan, says " I took it like a man"  when he spent the entire show and LCK whining like a little girl about the uneven pan.  Really, does he realize that all of us chef wannabees out here in the real world cook risotto every week in a 20 year old warped all-clad if we are really lucky, or more often in the warped non-stick with the peeling Teflon and the loose handle (see CJs pan from LCK)

I think the guy is gone because he has no social skills and zero Manners. Even if he cooked a better dish, I just think he was too much of a jerk for Tom to keep

I MISS the blind taste test QF that made it through season 4. It could be a two-part QF....the top half of the blind tasting could have to the. Cook with the ingredients they got WRONG

John was a jerk personality wise but there have been a lot of jerks who stayed on Top Chef,  but i enjoyed watching him cook, just muted the TV when he got really bad.  I do not think he gets that the twist on the challenge was built into the episode, but he will live through it. lolol  His arguments with Stephan and Josh were hilarious!

I think that Josh was ok calling out John's excuse, however I am glad it didn't amount to anything. It wasn't exactly neccessary since the judges werent buying it, but someone had to say John's excuses were old.

@bostonlaura64 Wylie wasn't a judge.

@qoqo  I definitely think Brooke and Kristen will be there, but I don't see Lizzie making it. She hasn't really won anything, and just doesn't seem to be a threat. Stefan, Micah, Josh, and Sheldon havent quite put it together yet, but you get the sense from all of them that they are close. I don't get that sense from Josie or Lizzie.

@Vic2012 Thank you!!! I am so glad someone finally agrees with me. Why shouldn't Josh call him out? All John has done was make excuses. Josh mentioned he was a former wrestler, there are no excuses in wrestling. You win or you lose. I think he was just fed up. I am team Josh but I do think it will be Kristen or Brooke in the finals.

I honestly didn't find him that annoying like other people.  He had his moments, but he wasn't anything like Heather from last season.  She was the definition of abrasive IMO.

Lol, yeah...I've been watching TC since season 3, and when she was chewing out Bev at judges table, that was the only time I have cringed and had to look away.  It was so sad.

It shouldn't matter if it was a judge or not.  They were at the judges table.  They all knew the sauce was missing.  I'm sure it was good and Kristen seems to be a great chef, but in all fairness, I agree she shouldn't have taken home the win.
