Bethenny Frankel doesn't think Leah's poor performance was due to her kiss with Hosea. Let her explain.

The Quickfire was underwhelming this week, but some things were a bit different. Stefan's arrogance was less offensive, and on merits alone, he is the best chef. I wonder how much the judges go on food alone or if they incorporate attitude and ability to work in a team.

I just hosted a culinary event in Utah, and the best chefs are only as good as their staff. A good staff usually doesn't detest their boss. I may be wrong, but it's something to consider.

I loved how Stefan took chicken you know what and made it into chicken salad. His quote was "You fix stuff" and he was damn straight. His desserts were doomed, and he didn't hesitate to make it work. I also think he'd be a great expeditor which was his secondary responsibility. Radhika was working with cement feet. When Fabio said they could serve monkey ass and they would still win because of his charm, he isn't kidding. If the show was called Top Charm, he would win.

I was annoyed that Leah and Radhika were still around because Ariane would have been a great work horse during this task. Also, um Hosea, flirting is winking, giggling, and innuendo. Lying on a bed and making out is called fooling around. That better have been some good kiss because cheating is one thing. Cheating on national television to replay over and over is something that won't be fun once you get home to your partner. Ouch. In their defense, emotions run high during these productions. I was sequestered for two months during The Apprentice and chairs start to look attractive. The bigger picture is obviously your life at home, but more importantly all you sacrifice to be there, then to get distracted by romance. You need all your focus in a competition like this. I don't, however think this is why Leah's food was sub par. I'm sure it contributed, but she hasn't been a rock star since the beginning. Hosea's food was great as it often has been.

Jeff coasted, Jamie seemed to shine, Carla tanked, and Stefan hit it out of the park.

My top four remain: Jeff, Jamie, Stefan, and Hosea. Carla and Leah are neck in neck to go home next.

Radhika deserved to go home for dragging her heels. She should have owned it. Just take a stand on something.

Make Melissa's Seared Duck Breast Dish

Get the recipe for Melissa King's winning new culinary creation: seared duck breast with farro, walnut miso, and pickled cherries.

Duck Breast, Walnut Miso, Pickled Cherries, Farro

Ingredients:

Duck breast
Salt
Pepper
1 cup Walnuts
1 Tbsp Red miso paste
1 Tsp Mirin
Rice vinegar
1 Tsp White soy sauce
Cheeries
Butter
Farro
Chicken Stock
Celery
Walnut Oil
Radishes
Yuzu
Chocolate Mint (to preference)

Directions for Duck
1. Season duck breast with salt/pepper
2. Sear on med-low on cast iron skin side down to render fat
3. Remove and let cool until medium rare
Directions for Walnut Miso
1. Blanch 1 cup walnuts in hot boiling water
2. Blend in blender w/ 1 Tbsp red miso paste, 1 Tsp mirin, 1 Tsp rice vinegar, 1 Tsp white soy sauce.
3. Blend until very smooth and then pass through chinois

Directions for Pickled Cherries
Cherries (slice/pit)
2 part Rice vinegar
1 part butter
To taste Sugar
Pinch of Salt

1.Boil and pour over cherries
2. Strain and reserve liquid. Mound pickling liquid with butter on the pick up to make cherry sauce

Directions for Farro
1. Boil farro in chicken stock for 1 hour until soft and bloomed
2. Strain farro
3. Mound farro with butter and chicken stock until it looks creamy
4. Season with salt

Directions for Shave Carrots
1. Shave celery (compress with walnut oil)
2. Shave radishes (compress with yuzu)
3. Chocolate mint (chopped)
4. Toss all with walnut oil, salt
