I cannot tell a lie, that ralley helped.

I hope you return next season. You are very sexy! :)

Chef Ripert, Please bring back some classics!!!

Do the judges not know even now that Ed left his sous-chef to make the dessert? They kept saying it's very simple and not like Ed's style - that's because Ed didn't make it. I'm not sure he even suggested it; it sounded like the sous-chef's suggestion. I wanted Ed to win, but as soon as I saw that happening, I knew he had messed up and probably would not win. Several people in the past seasons have lost because they let the "helper" suggest what to make - not usually a good idea.

Chef Ripert, where is the text of your Blog? Under the radar - now that is a perfect description of what happened. I like the way you give the chefs feedback. It is done in such a way that a chef can grow. And if is really awful - like the Tuna at the ballpark, you tell it like it is. Thank you. Will you be back? Will we see you at the All-Stars? I hope so.

Loved that the finale was in Singapore - made me want to plan a trip there. Thanks for the blogs this season to give us your insights.

Saw you on Bourdain's special too - and really enjoyed that episode.

I love the insights and opinions of each judge, but you are by far my favorite. Ignore silly people whom complain of an accent, it makes you even sexier and sophisticated!

give me my badge points for reading these blogs....that's all folks

Great review Eric. I think Angelo's menu may have suffered from being too liquedy: noodles, soup and a soupy dessert. I'm also in favor of complete dishes instead of the trios and food you have to assemble in just the right way. Thank you for bringing great professionalism to the show.

Where are Eric Ripert's comments?????

Love your vids and style. Thank you for adding to the enjoyment and informativeness of this TC fan throughout the entire season.

Spare me, Angelo was sick! I would expect this from a reality show, I thought more from Top Chef!!!!!! Guess I will cancel this from my DVR.

This was very helpful in understanding the decision. I'm so happy for Kevin! What a great season!

Chef Ripert, I have so enjoyed this season of Top Chef with you being on board as a judge. I admire your keen perspective on things. It was a great season and I love that Kevin won. Slipped under the radar is right!
I hope you will be back judging next season.

I love what you have to say and the culinary comments are interesting and thoughtful. However, your accent really makes me listen intently to understand what you are saying. Is there any way you can enunciate more and perhaps slow down so us inflection-and-accent-hearing-impaired fans can appreciate your candor, comments, expertise, and wisdom? Thanks. This show makes me hungry every time I watch it. Can Top Chef arrange a culinary tour of the Top Chef winner's restaurants across the USA? For that opportunity, I would update my wardrobe and leave the comforts of home for fine food from Top Chefs!!

Eric, as always it is a pleasure to hear you commenting on Top Chef. I hope that you will remain as a judge. You always give your opinion in a soft gentle way as to not hurt anyones feelings. I know your cuisine must be great because you have alot of soul. Thank you for letting the fans know how the judges reached their decision and awarded Kevin the title of top chef. I hope to see you on Top Chef next season.

I know the French have a different idea from many about what constitutes a vegetarian dish, but was the vegetable dish supposed to be "vegetable", or "vegetarian"? I heard it as "vegetable" when they announced what the courses should be. I guess I can see that Angelo's dish might have been less vegetable focused than the other dishes; that might be a more accurate criticism.

If Kevin used gelatin in that vegetable terrine, it's not vegetarian either, and of course Ed's dish wasn't vegetarian (cockles).

I am really disappointed by this whole season. Either the editing was horrible or the chefs were really lacking in talent, especially compared to last season. The editing may have done this disservice to Kevin, but it is very surprising that he could have won. He always seemed to just get lucky in not getting cut off. Angelo was clearly very talented. Others who seemed much more talented than Kevin, namely Tiffany, were cut off with out satisfying justification and we were left with a show barely worth watching. I am bored, disappointed and surprised. The description here by Eric Ripert gives more interesting information than many of the conversations that the editors otherwise showed throughout the whole season. Thanks for this blog post, but overall, a very disappointing season.

Thank you Chef Ripert for your thoughtful and clear comments on the finale. You've helped me to understand exactly how the judges came to their decision. Hope to see you as a judge on the next season of Top Chef!

Thank you so very much for your commentary on how the dishes were judged. As was proven by your analysis and that also in Tom's blog, Kevin, indeed, deserved to win. I don't seem to remember this level of detail regarding the finale in past seasons (I could be wrong), however, it seems almost like there is a feeling of having to justify the decision. The winner was clearly stated. I could tell watching the finale that Kevin seemed to be the steadiest in terms of thinking out a plan and working it. From what I've seen in past seasons, nerves or a lack of clarity in vision is what has caused other individuals who may have had a stronger showing during the season to crack at the finale.

Again, thank you for expertly describing the experience for us and you've been a great judge. Hope to see you again next season.

First let me say, I'm ecstatic at the addition of Eric Ripert as one of the judges! I love his cooking and his insights on food. Besides, I love all things French! I wanted Angelo or Ed to win, but Kevin did out cook them and I'm happy for him. Love Top Chef!

I have enjoyed hearing and reading your comments all season. So glad you were such an integral part of this season's Top Chef!
