Carrie Fisher’s Dog Gary Will Appear in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Don’t blink, or you might miss him.

Fans of Carrie Fisher will already know about Gary, the Frenchie who went with the actress everywhere in the final years of her life — and even did appearances for mourning fans after her death and watched his mom on TV

If you love Gary, you’ll be happy to know — he makes an onscreen appearance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which hits theaters on December 15.

Fangirl Clair Henry found a promotion still in which Gary, whose features have been morphed by CGI, plays an alien pet in the background of a galactic casino scene featuring Finn (John Boyega) and Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran).

Director Rian Johnson confirmed the cameo in the comments.

Gary, who is known to Twitter users as #spacegary, no doubt felt comfortable on set, where he was already beloved by the cast and crew.

These days, Gary lives with Fisher’s longtime assistant Corby McCoin, who among other things, treated him to a delicious Thanksgiving feast. To track his adventures, follow him on Instagram @garyfisher.
