On Wednesday night, Lance Bass let his dog, Lily Dimples, out into the yard for a drink of water. Two minutes later, he went outside to look for her, but she was already gone.
It turns out the small pup had been snatched by a pack of coyotes that Bass tracked down with his car. According to his rep, he witnessed one of them carrying his beloved Lily, already dead, in its mouth. She was only eight years old.
He shared on Twitter: "It is with an extremely heavy heart that I share the passing of our baby girl Lily. Lily was one of a kind. More human than dog. She really was so perfect. She will be painfully missed. Today is her 8th birthday. We love you Lily Dimples."
In an Instagram post in which he mourned the loss, Bass also warned about the dangers of coyotes:
"For those that live near coyotes, please triple check the safe areas they get to roam free. Our backyard was “coyote proofed” with rollers and all and they somehow leaped over all of it. They also can dig under fences."
Lily will be greatly mourned by Lance and his husband, Michael Turkin. The couple still have Chip and Dale, two Chorkie brothers he adopted from Vanderpump Dogs. Yes, Lance is an ambassador for the rescue shelter and, yes, Chip and Dale have their own Instagram page, obviously!
