Your Dog Can Now Have His Own Amazon Profile

In case we didn't shop on Amazon.com enough already.

Now that you’ve got your fur baby’s photos all organized thanks to Google Photo’s facial recognition feature for pets, it’s time to move on over to Amazon and get a shopping profile set up for your pet. Yes, you read that correctly, just in time for the holidays, Amazon has launched a new tool for animal lovers that helps you add your beloved four-legged, or two-legged — or whatever kind of critter you may have — to your Amazon account.

The best part is Amazon will give you a one-time, 20 percent discount for food upon signing up your first pet and also give you some deals on various pet items. It’s for a limited time though, so get that pet profile up and running before you are late to the discount party!

To get started, log into your Amazon account and click navigate your way to the Home, Garden, Pets & Tools section under Departments. Then click on “Pet Supplies” from the drop down menu and you will see the “Create a Pet Profile” option to the right of your screen once you are in the Pet Supplies section. Amazon will walk you through the process of selecting what type of pet you have (Nemo the Clownfish, that includes you too!), your pet’s breed (purebred or mixed), age, name, weight, etc. You can even upload a photo of your pet to really have some fun personalizing their profile page. And voila — you’re good to go!

Now you can get sucked into the pet gift section like me, and add things like cat drinking fountains shaped like flowers to your cart … not because you have a cat, but because you think it’s ridiculously adorable and justify purchasing one for a cat owner on your Christmas list who may or may not need an ergonomic water dish for their feline. ’Tis the season y'all!
