Katie Maloney Demonstrates the Power of Strobing...on Schwartz
Even Tom Schwartz is impressed by the results of this technique.
When teaching a makeup how-to, you need a great model. You want someone with experience, great skin and a pretty smile. So when Vanderpump Rules' Katie Maloney stopped by the Bravo offices to give a strobing tutorial, she turned to none other than fiancé Tom Schwartz for help.
"The idea behind strobing is that you're just highlighting areas that catch the most light to make your skin look bright and fresh and gorgeous," says the Pucker & Pout co-founder.
To begin, you need a large makeup brush and a highligther (Katie is using MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle). Next, focus on the cheekbones, the brow bones, the bridge of the nose, and your cupid's bow (unless you're working with a bit of stubble like Schwartz is).
As for the best method of applying the highlighter? "I start by just patting it a little bit and blending backwards."
