As the legend goes, Mariah Carey lived up to her diva reputation when she was slated to make a cameo in the new Will Ferrell/Amy Poehler flick, The House. As it turns out, her demands prevented the cameo from actually coming into existence, and co-star Cedric Yarbrough even called her behavior "borderline abusive." Now, Will is spilling more details about the kerfuffle on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
He confirmed on Thursday's show that Mariah showed up four hours late to set and then wanted changes made to the script. "Well one script note was like, 'I don't want to do this scene even though it was totally approved at the time,'" he revealed. He then shared that she took some issue with the song choice for her scene.
"Yes it totally was [one of her songs]. [She'd rather sing] something else, which is hard with clearance and became quite a kerfuffle," he said, "AKA s*** storm."
The demands didn't end there. In her trailer, she requested that there be "lambs, stuffed lambs for her [fans]."
In the end, Mariah's appearance never came into fruition, despite all the back and forth. "I don't remember [when we knew exactly it was over] because at 11 p.m. there was a knock on my trailer door and they said, 'You can go home,'" Will recalled. "I got in my car and left everyone on set and it didn't happen."
