Ricki Lake will always be a classic. As the original Tracy Turnblad ("Hairspray"), she showed the world that fat girls rock. She changed the face of daytime TV with her own talk show that ran for 11 whopping years. Ricki has beautiful children, is a great "game night" host, is a fox, and is hosting a marathon of vintage game shows on CBS starting tonight! How did I know when she called that I could get her to reveal to the world when she lost her virginity?! Me and Ricki pretend we are on the set of "Cry Baby"
LET'S GET INTO IT. I LOVED VISITING YOU ON THE SET OF "FAMILY FEUD" HEARING YOU SAY "LET'S PLAY THE FEUD!" WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PIECE OF GAME SHOW LINGO TO SAY?WHAT WAS THE HARDEST SHOW TO HOST?
"Let's Make a Deal" was technically the hardest, but I actually did OK with that one. Probably "Beat the Clock" was the hardest for me because I didn't know it as well.
WHAT WAS THE EASIEST?
Oh Man — "Press your Luck." I just stood there behind the podium and WENT. No one even had to explain the rules to me because I KNOW "Press Your Luck!"
YOU ARE A REALITY SHOW NUT — WHAT ARE YOUR FAVES?
There are so many — Project Runway is definitely up on top. I love Amazing Race and Survivor. I love all of them. I think it goes back to my talk show background. I love real people and their stories. That interests me more than celebrities on talk shows or dramas. I just find real people so compelling and I love competition and seeing what people will do to win.
Oh, without even saying it — it is my favorite reality show. I'm not happy about Taylor winning. He's a nice guy though. One of the major perks about Game Show Marathon was that I was next door to Idol's set. My dressing room was next to Simon's which was a big deal to me. I picked Katherine from the auditions to win. Taylor is a nice guy. I had a bet with Craig Ferguson about who would win and lost a hundred bucks. I will buy Katherine's album but I can't promise I'll buy Taylor's. We went to the finale and my son was so into it — those are the perks of being a celebrity to go to those things.
