So much is happening in BravoLand...tonight is part 2 of OC reunion (the S hits the F), a new episode of NYC Housewives, and then at midnight I am joined by Jill Zarin and NeNe Leakes.
NeNe's in town - along with every other Bravo star - to celebrate Bravo's new slate of shows that we announced yesterday. We had a huge, fantastic party last night that brought together every housewife, chef, designer, etc that you can imagine. So under one roof it was Bethenny, NeNe, Teresa, Gretchen, Tom Colicchio, Jackie Warner, Jeff Lewis (with Jenni and Zoila), Madison, Kelly Cutrone, Tabatha, Camila Alves (with Matthew McCoughney), Sarah Jessica Parker, Isaac Mizrahi -- and 65 other Bravo stars. It was so much fun and a hugely successful event.
Here's my friend Liza standing in formation with the NJ Housewives:
And here's a group of Top Chefs flanking Tom:
Here's some stuff I shot behind the scenes of the OC reunion. Vicki got fairly pissed at me during a break; she said that I was ganging up on her... I just want you to see what it's like sitting in my chair during those things, flanked by blond-ness on either side of me.
"Stars"? Isn't that a misnomer?
I was really hoping that when the new slate of shows came out there would be some severe editing of the 'Housewives' series but much to my dismay, Bravo is as heavily reliant on them as ever. Can you at least reign in their behavior this year? (Oh, what am I saying!) Ok, how about having the blogs be less of infomercials this year? I'd settle for that.
I like most of the shows except the Housewives. Perhaps its just I dislike those few housewives that always seem to keep it stirred up (Yes, Bethenney, Ramona, Vikki) but those seem to be the ones with which you are most enamored.
big fan of yours Andy! love, love, love when you post behind the scenes footage from your flip cam! I want to have drinks w/ you @ the boom boom room!!
Andy, Which of the Real Housewives shows is the most popular? * OC * NYC * NJ
I would love to know.
If you don't know--why not put a poll up on Bravo.
As for me...I love them all..but NJ is my fav with NYC next
Andy, The reunion shows are phenomenal! You have to have balls the size of the Goodyear Blimp to ask some of those questions. (ouch) Love the show!!!
Oh, my goodness Andy or should I say homey, I would have loved to have been at that party. I love everything Bravo! When people ask me what kind of tv do you like or what do you watch? I always tell them whatever is on Bravo! The other day a coworker asked me, "What is Bravo?" I had to sit down because I almost fainted. How can you live on this planet and not know? Once I caught my breathe I educated him on all the wonderful shows. This year I have really enjoyed the midnight show and getting to know you better. You are a hoot! So far my favorite was when your guests were Ricki Lake and the fabulous Rupaul. I also love every episode that Jeff Lewis has been on! Andy and staff keep up the excellent work! You guys ROCK!
So much talk on OC Housewives about Frank and Simon not doing good financially this year.. Don't they get paid for doing the show?? Either individual or a couple? With that, they should be better off then us middle class... So much talk of MONEY problems, but the show payng them is never mentioned.. Why??
I LOVE that handheld cam action! This reunion is gonna get good when the guys show up. Can't wait for tonight!
Andy, I love your wit and willingness to call people out when needed. Hey, am I the only one who would "clock" my son or daughter if he/she ever called me a Bitch. What is wrong with Lynn? And why are all of these women sooo caught up in each other's lives. They all say, "I don't care." But then they just go on and on about the same old $%#@. Really, they're all way past grown. Why are they so invested in whether Slade is a jerk or Simon is controlling? I've always wanted to know are these casts just put together because they live in the same area? Or are they "friends" who suggest each other for the show? Are they forced to interact with each other so we'll have episodes? Sometimes it's like looking at a a car accident. You don't want to but it's hard to turn away. And when the car is upside down or on fire you may see something horrible and hard to forget. Keep up the good work!
Awesome, a little bit behind the scenes a little bit makeup and hair, a little bronzer, a little hairspray and you sit smack in the middle of it all, got any Makers Mark close by during taping?
Freaking LOVE you Andy Cohen great job last night can't wait until tonight and then a NY episode after that, and then Watch What Happens Live, w/Nene and Jill OMG my head is gonna explode TV doesn't get any better than Bravo TV
I thought you did a great job last night with the questions. Hit'em hard. I hope that you have questions like that for the other reunions.
It would have been great if Jo (season 1) had appeared as a special guest. I think that would have been awesome to hear what she had to say about Gretchen and Slade. Weren't Jo and Gretchen friends and isn't that how Gretchen met Slade?
I hope tonight is as good as it was last night. I'm ready!
Andy keep up the good work.
Yeah right Vicki!!! the Pope has nothing else to do but to talk about Slade and Gretchen. I love watching the Real housewives of O.C and I doubt the pope and members of the Vatican are sitting around watching the real housewives of O.C
I don't have cable TV, but I recently stumbled across Housewives of Orange County on Hulu.com and loved it. I have watched every clip and episode that they have, and I ordered season 1 from Amazon. But how do I get the other seasons on DVD? When will they be available to the public? Thanks
Great Job Andy... I think you are so great at being controlled when everyone and everything is in Chaos! You Rock!!
Andy I thought you really picked on Vicki in the 2 part of the reunion. I Was really disappointed in you.
Andy, Andy, Andy... I feel the need to tell you that you are amazingly entertaining. I love to watch anything you are a part of...Sooooo jealous! You have the most fantastic job. I would love to live your life and be you, if only for a day...I can't wait for your book that you should write to tell the stories of what you REALLY think of all the wacky characters in your shows...I pray that you continue to thrive on your path of success... Peace & Love, Sarah
HI Andy, I just wanted to say... you were a PERFECT selection for the reunion episode ;o) Throughtout the reunion you would often read commemts/questions from viewer like me that are address to specific housewives, I was wondering where would I be able to get my comment in, I would love to hear and see the reactions of some of the questions I have for Tamara and Vicky. Thanks and keep up the HOT work !!
Andy Cohen..... YOU are the bomb! adore you! Tell Bravo to give you an hour show- I want to come and watch your live show. Please?!
Love you. Love Bravo. Why no hoodies? Would love a Mazel hoodie. Like lots of women, I don't do t-shirts. Offer hoodies! : )
I don't get why you picked at Vikki the whole R show!!! What is your prob? Is it BECAUSE she is the oldest and most real????? Go back to being objective, you appear a bit "mean girlish" when you express your opinion. I really wish they would have someone better do the hosting :(
Andy you rocked the muther tonight!!! This is the first time I felt like you really did not let those women or the men get away without answering questions and you had great questions!
You nailed Slimey and I was screaming 'Yes, yes!!' to you from my arm chair! Like it was his choice to not be on season 3 and it had nothing to do with not being considered because he was only on with Jo to start. That Major Douchebag really fires me up.
Thanks again and keep bringin' it on WWHL. Great show, sweaty lip and all.
Kisses, AC. Don't tell Mr. Art about my love for you. He might jump off of one of his buildings. He's an architect / importer /exporter you know.
Hi Andy, I LOVE watching all the Bravo shows, but Top Chef and all the Housewives are my favorite (though NYC tops the ladies).
I just wanna ask why ya'll haven't thought about doing a Midwestern housewives show? You've got NYC & Jersey, Hotlanta, OC & now Beverly Hills...but nothing in the "heart" of America! As a Midwestern girl myself, I'd love to see it, and I think the women would be much more real and down-to-earth than the glamorous, dramatic, super rich housewives on the current shows. Chicago? St. Louis? Twin Cities? or you could even go more drastic and show some small-town life instead of the big cities. Just my opinion!
Keep up the good work.
I loved how you brought the men on this season's OC reunion show. I still couldn't help but notice the generational gap developing between Vicki and the newer ladies on the show. Maybe that is why she has such trouble relating to them. Twenty years is a huge gap that can make a big diffrence in women's viewpoints. Tamara seems to have mellowed some. It's nice to see her not so hostile. I have only one thought as for the Slate and Laurie "romance" that Vicki insisted on making such a big deal about. To a man who is hanging with a woman for the few weeks when he is broke up with his fiance, that girl is just a booty call! Laurie was his booty Call! He wasn't serious about her. I remember that! As for, can Gretchen do better...Hell Yes, she can! I like Alexis..she is young and refreshing. What Lynn adds to the show...what NOT to be..as a parent and a person. But this season was good because the the power was balanced. Thanks for a good season.
I feel Vicki was getting picked on by everyone last night! Just didn't seem right. I really hope she is going to come back for next season. I also hope Bravo doesn't have Alexis come back, she adds nothing to the mix!!!! I can't even stand to listen to her talk! Sometimes it better to leave well enough alone. You had a good group of women lets just leave it at that.
I really enjoyed the double reunion, especially bringing the "husbands" on the stage. If Vicki leaves the show (which I really hope she doesn't - her marriage turn around was an inspiration and I love Don! - Slade will be the only original cast member. That would be very unfortunate and really take the show down. I would rather see him ban from the cameras for a season and just focus on the women and the "real husbands" of OC.
please have a win a Date with Tad Hamilton, i mean Andy, contest, wasn't sure it would work until i saw him airkiss the flip cam.
Hi, Andy - LOVE YOU! It struck me last night while watching the NYC housewives that it seems they're forcing the drama. I mean, really, separate parties talking about the other? It seems very high school, and good for Alex for wanting to stay neutral!!
Andy- You were questions to Slade were great! The silence and reluctance to answer some of your questions was answer enough for me. Good Job!
I have been a devoted fan of Real Housewives since the very first episode of the OC bunch was aired. Over the past five years I have kept a notebook of all the grammatical slips made by each and every one of the housewives......of course, some have been more memorable (and comical) than others.
For example, I will never forget when Ramona pronounced "persona" as "pers-on-u" or how all the housewives think they are graceful and lady-like by saying "between you and I" when they should be saying "between you and ME"
I would love to see you produce a compilation of these slips and air it on one of your specials or reunion shows.
Thanks for the great entertainment!
Is this Real Housewives of the OC or Reborn Christians of the OC? This is the second time they have tried this and if it continues, I will not be watching. I was really surprised the Pastor was not on the couch with the husbands, he got quite a bit of free airtime this season.
Watching WWHL now on my DVR! You have good energy and vibes you can tell you were having fun! Good show
When are they going to bring back The Atlanta Housewife? The best of them all. I do like the OC housewife also. thanks, by the way you are great the wsy you handle these women :).
Andy, so loved you taking the spin out of Slade's ever twisted spin rush! Your statement regarding Jo, contract ending thus Slade's ending....priceless! The color drained from his face and he was overcome with silence...another priceless moment in time.
And Andy, love, love those Cognac colored shoes...who are you wearing?
I just have to say you have come a LONG way baby. Your first reunion show was a bomb, but most recently you have become da bomb! I especially love your pregnant pauses after someone lies right to your face- you rock! Slade--OMG. And poooooooor Gretchen, she needs to open her eyes. I also love everything on Bravo- great job! I will say though that the Housewives really seems scripted, especially NYC. Get back to more real, less edits. What Happens Live is the best show on TV- make it an hour please. smoooches Andy.
The OC Reunion show this season was the best yet! Really enjoyed it and nearly spit my drink out laughing when Jeana asked Tamra if she was "white trash"!!! Hilarious and one of the many reasons Jeana has been one of my favorites. As someone who has watched the many HW shows from the very beginning I am begging you not to bring back Alexis and Lynne. Neither one adds anything of substance to the show. When we as the viewers know that the ladies really and truly are not friends and only hangout when contractually obligated it takes away from the show. I stopped watching the horrible Atlanta brach for this reason. The storylines are so much more interesting and relatable when the group knows each other and interact outside of the show. That's the primary reason why NJ is my all time favorite!!!!
Responding to powerball59.... you are so right! without Vicki on the OC version, the show would lose all semblence of reality with what little the other ladies bring to the program. Most are wanna-be's and simply rude and ignorant.
Bravo Andy for the Farrah mention on Watch What Happens! The academy is a bunch of Jackholes and Farrah DESERVES to be remembered by her many fans. She is greatly missed!
Please please please, no more Slade! UGH! I can't take it any more! Please please please bring back Tammy and Lauri and Jeana! The show was so much better when they were on the air! As long as I'm wishing, I wish that Gretchen would find a nice young man her age who would cherish her and build a real family with her... sigh!
~Well..all I can say it takes one helluva man to put up with all the "drama" that comes with being around ALL the housewives..regardless of which area & which season!!!!!~
~And..your "live" shows are a BLAST...if a person is having a really crappy day/eve..all they need to do is tune in to "Bravo Live" and see YOUR "smile" & the rest is just a "bonus"~:)
Andy when can we see a tip of the hat to the Latin demographic with a Real Housewives Of Miami Beach?!
-Edward, Bay Harbor Islands, FL
REAL GIRL-FRIENDS OF DC! Here is an idea of a show that would sell so quickly: Having been in Washington DC for the past 3 years, and after observing the life style of the many professionals (from congress staffers, NGO personnel, the private sector employees etc.) - it seems as if, unlike other cities, real housewives of D.C. would be a misrepresentation of the majority of the people living in the city... Real girl-friends of DC would highlight the relationship between profession and family life (or lack of). How does my idea sound?
If Gretchen EVER appears on your show I think you should ask her about her "Shanequa" comment. It was extremely rude, disrepestful, and racist and I was highly higly offended by it. Furthermore, she felt the need to laugh when she said it. She was clearly mocking black women, and what makes her believe a person named Shanequa would behave that way?
Andy- PLEASE do not let Vicky stop doing the show! We love Vicky and she is the last true housewife! Please get rid of Gretchen, Lynn and the awful Alexis and get back Laurie, Tammy, and Jeana. We watch the show to get a glimpse into the lives of the fabulous and there is nothing and has never been anything fabulous about Alexis, Gretchen or Lynn...Especially Alexis, she and Jim are just booooring who can blame Don and Vicky for wanting to take a nap.
Love you! Love the show!
Andy - I think the "real" housewives can be seen in Dayton, OH. You have real people here with real lives, middle America that everyone can identify with. Sure it is fun to watch the glitz and the glam, but what about the upper middle class who are the backbone of society? It is not "real weathy" housewives, it is real housewives. Step out of the box an bit and come see what you could find. Besides, the families here do work, so at least Vicky would be happy to watch. :-)
