Friday was a bonifide Snow Day, and I loved it. I got a lot of work done in my apartment and felt like the Lord was giving me a big flannel hug all day.
By evening, the madness outside had stopped long enough for me to go to a friend's house and watch The September Issue. (I am behind on everything except Bravo.) I really enjoyed the movie even though it was fairly humorless and maybe a teensy bit dull? I fell in love with Grace Coddington and was alert every time Wintour walked into that room where she chose what was in or out of the magazine.
Saturday I TCB'd, prayed for the people of Chile, prayed for Marie Osmond, and checked in and out w/ CNN for Quake coverage and tsunami speculation by every local station in Hawaii. Interesting to note that their local news is as bad as everywhere else. Mahalo!
Saturday night I went to the Theater for the New City in the East Village to see the legendary NYC theater duo Charles Busch and Julie Halston in their latest play "Divine Sister." I loved it so much - the perfect old school laugher that Saturday nights are made for. Afterwards, we went with Charles and Julie to an Italian joint across the street that's been there since 1904. It felt like 2001 and it was tons of fun.
It's not in NYC only that you have the wacka doodles.I think you just notice them more because ours are so spread out.I used to smile at everybody.I liked everyone till they gave me a reason not to.Now I still smile but I'm always thinking maybe this person will be the one to go crazy. Sad isn't it? I'm sad for Marie Osmond, the people in Chile, The people in Haiti, The people with no jobs, the people who are ill, And the young people who choose suicide as a solution to their problems.Even so , the optimist in me prays for a better future, and tries to do my part to make someone elses life better. If we all did one little thing for someone once a week we could make a difference. And Andy you're doing your part with the Bravo shows and WWHL. I scream out all my frustrations to the TV so I don't become one of those wackadoodles walking around!!!!!
that is your longest paragraph ever! still laughing "tiny fingers/setting gems" You and Joan were great together!
But Andy, a trip to the movies would not be complete without at least one crazy! My favorite was when I saw Dreamgirls and there was this lady on our row who must have seriously thought she was Jennifer Hudson singing 'And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going'. Hand motions flailing around and everything! She was very invested... And you mentioned the best headline of yesterday, here's the best tv quote...'but honey, I want to get you a stripper pole' wife replies 'people in hell want ice water but they ain't gettin' it'. From the show The Marriage Ref. Hilarious!
Hi Andy -
With all the Housewives drama - I would love you to get Vicki - Jill & Ramona in the same room - who would come out still standing?
Luv u,
JacSin
Hi Andy,
I'm a competitor of Joan's on QVC and her line about tiny fingers/ tiny stones really cracked me up. Something I alweays wanted to say but wouldn't have the nerve! I'm sure "The Q" was not amused by that. I was watching her on QVC the night before she appeared on your show, and I wondered why she was getting so feisty. One of your callers pointed it out. Her defense of the QVC host, Rick, on your show rang hollow. Very funny stuff, especially if you know the characters.
BTW, if you're looking for another great Saturday eve in the theater, go see "Looped" with Valerie Harper. She channels Tallulah Bankhead. Even those as young as yourself with no memory of Bankhead, will find this laugh-out-loud fun. It's not campy in a drag queenish way, but funny, biting, poignant, and sophisticated.
Lastly, why do the men on Housewives/OC always drink through their cocktail stirrers? Is it a California affectation? Or a new money/strivers thing?
Andy love your show!!!! You Rock!!! When the OC ends can you have bravo show the footage of Slade with all his OC girlfriends it would be funny to see him, say the same things to each one.
Andy, I wonder if you really read this blog? If so I have a great idea for a show!! Take a chance to find out what it is, you could like the idea. You are Bravo's "Ryan" Seacrest
Dear "Call Him Miss Ross", I absolutely LOVED Valentino.. so glad you gave it a plug. It can be seen on Shotime movies or DVD.
But for just a sec, Andy, The Housewives.. I have been complaining about the dumbed down women in the OC and looking forward to the NY Housewives, can't wait to see them again.. But watching the reruns these last few days--- yikes!!! these women are all crazy! Getting harder and harder to listen. Yes, NY Housewives have better tastes, in everything-even their husbands, and do carry the sophistication that is Completely Missing in the OC, but they never stop fighting either.. where do you get these women? I have the best girlfriends, there is a whole bunch of us... This kind of thing never, ever goes on. What gives? Are they forced to live in this hell? No. They supposedly see each other off-set also. Horrible.
Andy, I loved the top 25 show! My personal all time fave is from Nene when she says, "Close your legs to married men, Hoooka!!" Love her!!! Thanks for giving me so much entertainment every year!!
Andy, I was so sad to see that instead of showing a new "Kell on Earth" the Top 25 RHW show was playing. I completely understand that RHW series is the flagship of Bravo, but also noticed the same Top 25 show is on every night this week. While I will watch it and be completely entertained, PLEASE GIVE US MORE KELL! Is there going to be a reunion special for Kell and her fantastic staff? Love Bravo and thanks for the hours of entertainment!!

Andy .. Thank you for standing up to the crazy ladies! :) I also watched THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE, and thought it lacked "something." After watching great docs like UNZIPPED and VALENTINO, I guess I expected more. With that said, I loved how the staff dissed Sienna's hair, and I thought Grace was the best part of the film. Loved that 20's spread! Ready for OC Housewives seaon ender! Call Him Miss Ross
