Rambling on the Train

Andy rambles ... on a train.

Feb 2, 2010

I am on a acela to D.C. this morning, en route to (TV confab) Real Screen where I'm hosting a panel this afternoon and on another in the morning. I know I've said it before, but I love the damn train! I am sitting in the "quiet car," which is a recipe for disaster. There is a 68-78 percent chance I won't make it to Baltimore without being removed from this car.

** How lame were the Oscar nominations this morning? Opening up Best Picture to 10 nominees in a year when movies sucked is not a happy coincidence. Zzz.

** I finished Game Change on the plane last night and can't wait for THAT movie. What I loved about the book is that it was totally nonpartisan and showed the good and bad of pretty much everybody. I came away respecting all the candidates in some way (with the exception of Edwards, who is un-respectable. It is simply not possible to respect him.).

** If you're a Millionaire Matchmaker fan (and who isn't?), it will interest you to know that tonight is a new episode, and that after next week's premiere we're doing a "Matchmaking Live" aftershow where Patti is going to answer any and every question you have about your love life.  Be scared, be very scared, and excited — be very very excited. There's more info on the Millionaire Matchmaker homepage.

** I can't believe I spelled Stevie Nick's name "Knicks" on the blog yesterday. I am clearly just thinking about the Knicks 24/7 and so is Monica, who edits this blog. We are total fanatics. (Not.)

** I am hoping that you enjoyed Kell on Earth as much as we did!

I love that your having Patti on your show! Love her!

Will you have Jonathon Antin on your show? So many of us miss his Blow out show! We would love to have an update from him.

Andy--no need to throw Monica under the bus. Yes, she should proofread, but YOU should take blame and not toss onto her. Just OWN IT ALREADY. She didn't misspell. You did.

FYI--big fan of Bravo shows and love you. Continued good luck on your Thursday show.

Shelly--Cincinnati

Andy - is the artist competition show that Sarah Jessica Parker was supposed to host still a possibility or has it been shelved? If it was shelved, can you please explain why? Thanks.

Sup Andy! Wow, I assumed you traveled a lot for your job, but DANG! You're all over the place. LA, Vegas, LA, D.C., St Louis, that must get exhausting! But I am envious of your travel-exhaustion (if in fact it is?)...Hopefully someday I'll have a job where I can do the same.

Anyway, just wanted to say I watched "Kell on Earth" at 1:00 a.m. after I had finished a paper that was due this morning at 7:30 a.m....but it was DEFINITELY worth the lack of sleep! I may be jumping the gun on this, but I think the series will be one of Bravo's most popular! Kelly is infectiously entertaining, and the show is edgy, smart, and goes balls deep! Can't wait for the rest of the season! Keep up the good work! Safe travels. -Peace and Love

Can you please tell me how to join Patty's matchmaking service...

I'm disappointed Bravotv has spent so much time on Alexia and Lynn's problems. I know this is a reality show. But plezzz! I don't want to see this unfold... Lynn's problems are bringing me down. I watch some of the episodes over and over... but latest two two have been to depressing! Please show more of the good times, shoppping, partying, trips, jewelry, etc. Like I said I watch the show for an escape... but lately the only thing I want to escape from is RHOC!
