Designers Reunite And Provel Explained!
Andy Cohen gets us excited for the Project Runway Reunion Show.
Hey kids it's time for the big Project Runway Reunion Show, and there's a great preview piece in the NEW YORK POST to get you all hot and bothered before it airs tonight at 10 EST. Yes, it's true that the fan favorite was something of a landslide, that Michael and Nina return to face the designers, that we show a clip of Michael going totally hysterical during a runway show, and that there is a very special cameo.
This was a pretty nice group of designers and the mood before the taping was less hostile than it has in year's past. As much as people SAY they don't like all the dramarama and fights, I wonder if you'd rather see kumbaya or tears. There still ARE tears tonight and some pretty cutting stuff. The Elves did a great job with all the packages that are shown throughout the reunion. There is some hilarious unseen footage and a piece in the first act of the show about Kevin that tickles me every time I see it.
OK enough about the reunion. Here's what else I got: I quizzically wrote yesterday wondering why Provel cheese only seems to exist in St. Louis, why everything there seems to be drenched in it, and why I seem to be powerless to it, and why it does not seem to exist in New York City. Sure enough, I got an email from my cousin Dave with a link to wikipedia, which answered my question exactly: "Provel is a white processed cheese that is popular in St. Louis, Missouri. Provel is produced with cheddar, Swiss, and provolone. It is soft at room temperature, with a gooey and almost buttery texture, and thus has a low melting point. It is the traditional topping for St. Louis-style pizza, including for example Imo's Pizza. It is also often served on salads, chicken and the Gerber sandwich. Some restaurants go a step further and use Provel for their pasta dishes with white sauce instead of the customary fresh Italian cheese and cream. Although popular in the St. Louis area, Provel is rarely used elsewhere." The entry also compares it to chipped beef's relationship with steak. (eeew.) If you've never had it, it may taste like Cheese Whiz or worse, but if you grew up on it, there is something irresistible about it. Kinda like SpaghettiOs. Or something very processed. There must be a reason it doesn't exist outside of St. Louis.
Speaking of Provel, in the "Make Me a Supermodel" edit room last night we were marveling at the PEOPLE magazine pictures of Christina Aguilera and her declaration that she scheduled her c-section and didn't want any vaginal tearing and has the moon from the stage of her concert tour in her son's nursery... According to this morning's POST, which seems to be my font of info today, nobody else was too interested in the pictures of Xtina, for which the magazine reportedly paid 1.5 million bucks. Oh hey I liked them.
I am still into "Big Brother" although I am waning on the dopes. I do like it that Crazy James has a NSFW m4m porno past, and am enjoying that the houseguests seem to be fellating each other nightly. The winter season is DIRTY. I also like "Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites" if only for the fireman and the golf lady. Is the golf lady's hair dyed or is it really jet black like that? OK I have actual work to do!
