Flying From La To Nyc

Andy Cohen covers the weekend tabloid gossip.

I spent my Saturday onboard American Airlines Flight #2 from LA back home to NYC. I have flown this route several times this month and know every answer to the Friends edition of "Scene It!" that is shown on the plane. (I love "Scene It!")I'd been saving Chronicles of Narnia for a day like Saturday and I treated myself and loved it. Then I hit my periodicals.

The weekend editions of Page Six usually suck. I always assume it's the place where they dump stuff that they wouldn't publish during the week. (Liz Smith's Sunday column reads to me like a hodge-podge of press releases for benefits that are low on ticket sales, but that's another story.) Saturday's Page Six featured a fascinating roundup of celebrity babysitting oddities that gave me cause for pause mixed with a touch of food for thought.

Consider that, as a teenager in Darien, Connecticut, actress Chloe Sevigny used to babysit a 3 1/2 year old Topher Grace! She says he was a good boy but that she used to fall asleep on the job. Consider that Michael Bolton used to babysit Paula Abdul. Abdul says she once stuck a pencil in her knee and babysitter Bolton had to take her to the doctor. I am "Straight Up" tellin' you that I think that lady is nutz.

The Post also reports that Bionic Woman superlady Lindsay Wagner babysat for the kidz of "Rhinestone Cowboy" Glen Campbell! And they say that Al "Grampa Munster" Lewis once hired Charles Manson to look after his kids in the 60s. As much as I want to doubt that story, crazier things have happened. The Post says Manson played guitar for the kids and quotes Al saying, "He didn't chop no heads off, he was very nice with me." The Doozy for me is the notion of Steve McQueen babysitting for Herb Ritts. Whaaaaayt???

People has a double issue featuring it's 100 Most Beautiful People in the World. It is a fairly predictable list, so I am going to save everyone three dollars and 99 cents by telling you exactly who is on their list in what category. You are going to be tempted to buy it anyway because of their exclusive pics of Brad and Angelina in Africa, but People already shelled out a reported 750k for those pics and I think enough money has traded hands over this issue already, don't you?

Beautiful people: Angelina Jolie George Clooney Reese Witherspoon Lindsay Lohan Keira Knightley Jamie Foxx Jake Gyllenhaal Antonio Banderas Eva Longoria Naveen Andrews Jessica flipping loserface Simpson Isaiah Washington Halle Berry Jessica Alba Jennifer Lopez Patrick Dempsey Eddie Cibrian Ziyi Zhang Kate Beckinsale Eric Bana Scarlett Johansson Beyonce Knowles Ryan Seacrest Terrence Howard Aaron Eckhart Rachel Bilson

The women of"Deal or No Deal:" There are 26 and I ain't naming them all. Let's call them "Janice Pennington" and call it a day, shall we? I think People cheated us by clumping 26 ladies together cuz they new they had to show 100 people! Truth Alert! Magazine Police!

Stars in their "Second Acts:" Heather Locklear Marcia Cross Julia Roberts Nicole Kidman Kirstie Alley

Tomboys: Pink Alicia Keys Avril Lavigne

Beauty at every age: A fun spread of ladies spanning age 20 (Mischa Barton) to 69 (Vanessa Redgrave) OK that's it, that's the list. I guess we can all be grateful that Denise Richards isn't on it, making that one less picture of her to that we have to see.
