Halloween Hijinx

Find out what Andy was up to this Halloween weekend!

The fact that Halloween was the same weekend as our setting the clocks back is the most brill happenstance since grilled cheese, don’t you think???

Friday night was Alison Serafim's annual Halloween blowout in her West Village Townhouse. This is the Halloween party to end all parties, and this year her place was transformed into an 80's downtown NYC graffitti-land, with incredible people wearing incredible 80'sWear.

SO here I am in full "Physical"-regalia sitting with a man who looks like he's dressed at Valentino in the 80s. Turns out this is actually Valentino in the 2000s. Timeless, I say! (That's none other than Gloria von Thurn und Taxis on the left and Bruce Hoeksema on the right.)

The crowd - huge, but I saw Marc Jacobs, Kelly Klein, Cynthia Rowley, Ann Duong, Bob Colacello, Bai Ling, Sandy Gallin, Giancarlo Giammetti, Perry Moore, Hunter Hill, Jackie Greenbers and I don’t know who else - was totally 80's art scene so my little Livvy Newton John thing felt v. out of place until I saw Supermodel Frederique van der Wal wearing full Jane Fonda, then I felt better. Tights are comfortable, by the way.

By Saturday night I was kind of DONE with Halloween especially since it sounded like a street riot below my windows. I wound up throwing on my tried and true sequin tails and going to a couple parties. I went old school at the end of the night, winding up at Two Boots for a slice, where I ran into none other than Miss Gail Simmons. Love that lady.

By the way, as all the TV hosts were going totally insane and over the top with their Halloween costumes on Friday, I hope you saw Harry Smith's incredible Julia Child costume and routine. It was beyond the beyond.

Last night I saw an AMAZING play called "Circle Mirror Transformation" at Playwrights Horizons. (It's just been extended so grab a date and a ticket.) It is a hilarious and touching one-acter (I love one-act plays) about 6 weeks in a drama class in a small town in Vermont. There is nothing I didn't like about that play.

I've been bitching about how boring "Mad Men" is this season but the last two episodes have been incredible - specifically last night. It was so good that I might have to watch it again. SEE IT IF YOU CAN.
