It is hot as hell here, so I did what any self-respecting bidnessman would --wrapped m'self in Seersucker. Hopefully that will help my body breathe today. Not that I'll be leaving the office whatsoever all day.
The weekend was awesome. I had a great meal at Nick and Toni's Friday night and caught up with an old friend who I haven't seen in too long. It was the definition of a good catch-up. Saturday I got a ton of work done (giving notes on Bravo shows) and managed a relaxing hang on the beach, where the water is remarkably warm for so early in the summer.
Saturday night was a dinner party at a friend's house and then Angry Birds driving me nearly mental under the stars before bed. I was pissed I got in an Angry Birds hole on such a gorgeous night. It seems sacrelidge. (I'm also spending a lot of time on Words with Friends these days.)
Sunday I boxed, had lunch with a friend, watched two upcoming Bravo shows, and hit the road home for our two-year anniversary show with Melissa and Joe. It was a really fun show and, with the exception of his final joke of the night, Joe has a hilarious sense of humor. The After Show was rollicking and, yes, he did give me a lap dance, on a dare from the Manzos.
By the way, nobody asked what I did this weekend, so who am I to be blabbing about it as if someone cared. Let me take a poll that you can answer below: does anyone really care what the hell I did this weekend??
I await your reply....
Andy Cohen recounts his latest trip to St. Tropez.July 18, 2011
Andy, I'd bet a lot more people care than you think, myself included. Now a question for you: Do you ever reply to the emails sent to your blog email? Thanks, Andy!
I have a question: What is the best way to let BRAVO know what we think of certain characters? Kim G. is definitely a minus for the show because she is so hateful and devious!
Is 9 by design coming back? SO worried now that Million Dollar Decorator and NY Housewives are wrapping up??!! Y'all are the only network that keeps us tuned in year round.....hope you keep it up. But really miss 9 by design!!!! You do a great job on watch what happens and the great line up at bravo! .......And who are the crazy figurenes behind your head in the bravo clubhouse?/ Caroline, your mom, there's some new weird gangster looking one too??? Just curious.
"Tink Sheild We want Cat Ommanney on RHONYC!!! " ARE YOU CRAZY!!!! She is the meanest woman I've ever seen!!! Reminds me a little of Ramona because she thinks it is OK to say anything hateful she wants to other people.
Yes, I care! I love many of the Bravo shows, but you are my favorite Bravo personality. You deal with some real fruitcakes, and your powers of diplomacy are always impressive. Honestly, sometimes I watch episodes of my less favorite Housewives franchises just so that I'll know what you're talking about on WWHL. In answer to your question, I am happy to read about anything you want to share about your weekends!
Andy, my 18 year old daughter references you as "Andy" when talking about her day and sharing her opinions. And I know who she is talking about! We care.
What was up with that comment from Joe? I was enjoying the interview and that comment took it back to eighth grade. Thank you for not sugar-coating and telling him that wasn't okay. Maybe Tersea and Joe need to work on what is appropriate to be said on national television and when.
I don't care so much about "what" you did as much as I care about "how" you describe your weekend. It's all in the details, Andy you are so entertaining.
Of course I care, Andy Cohen...I live vicariously through you. You and I would be besties, you know, if you lived in Louisville. I love, love, love you on WWHL, but Jay is a great fill-in. I think my favorite part, when Jay hosted Kathy and Rich, is when Jay said "We'll get to that Rich in the After show and then he looked at the camera and said "There is no After show tonight". Priceless. Take care, Andy Cohen and as always I'll be watching what happens.
OMG one of the best WWHL ever. It is so funny to watch Joey Gorga. He is so Teresa in a man's body. Too cute.
I am excited to be the first one to respond to your post. Sounds like you had a great weekend. It's also reassuring to know that I am not the only one who goes to bed in a fowl mood (grr, Angry Birds). Also, I would love to challenge you to a friendly game of Words with Friends. Find me, "Bluedevi11".
You're the best, Andy!
Andy - we all care what the hell you did over the weekend...especially since it's bound to be better than what most of us did...but I can say I survived Carmageddon...HA!! Love you and your sense of humor...
Hey Andy, I watch you show religiously and was so disappointed to hear the idiotic joke Joe said about his Arab friend being from AlQaeda. How would he like it if people referred to him and other fellow Italians as being part of the mob, or being nothing more than criminals? I really think he owes Arab Americans every where an apology. This kind of blatant ignorance should not be tolerated at all.
Absolutely Andy! I care and I find it hard to believe that I am leaving the first comment. DUDE, its been 24 hours! Where is everyone? Well I'm sinding you love from the Windy City. I hope one day you open your audience to spectators like me. You could be the next Oprah you know. Toodles!
You went too easy on the Joe and Melissa last night and then you let a mean question about Teresa out. Viewers had some goid questions for Melissa.
Did you put her cd up? Huh? Did you do it? Can you do it now? Want me to do it? You got everyone else's stuff up. How bout now? How bout now? Can you clear a shelf? Enough already!!!! You'll put it up if you want to. Don"t be bullied. Put the mirror side up.
Yes, dear Andy, we love you and always want to hear what you're up to! :) P.S. HILARIOUS show last night. I too cringed at that "last joke", but like Melissa said, it's too bad that we can't laugh at what was obviously said in good humor due to political correctness and people who TRULY think that way.
you silly...of course we care what you do on your weekends!
btw, my favorite parts of the bravo clubhouse are your mazel's, your wishes etc!
you deerheart (gentle heart) are the glue that holds all the housewives shows together!
Andy.... I love your shows... and I watch them religiously.... but I am very disappointed in you for hunting down Melissa and Joe Gorga just for the show. You could have done better! Most people I know do not even want to watch with me anymore because of it, when we all used to love to get together to watch this particular housewives. I do not wish to totally bash your judgement though, I love the rest of the shows .... and I LOVE YOU!!! :)
Hi Andy, In your first season of "Watch What Happens" you mentioned an antique glass shop near your home, downtown.....I went there and bought a couple of fabulous pieces of glass art....I can't remember the name of the shop...can you help me out? Love you, love the show....thanks. Donna
I love my seersucker!!!!! Melissa and Joey come across to me as very immature ....i have a great sense of humor but I found his comment about Richie in very poor taste.......to me all the Housewives of New Jersey exhibit bad behavior (with the exception of Caroline)...Your enthusiasm and humor keep me tuned in to WWHL...good job!
You are part of the daily conversation in my home . . .you and your adventures are so entertaining. . . .thank you for sharing!
We LOVE LOVE LOVE you! Love watching you on WWHL and kudos to you for all the creative genius that goes into creating shows for Bravo. Though so incredibly removed from the "reality" that is my life, my days would be a little darker if I didn't have me some real housewife fiascos to escape too. I have been a long time loyal viewer and had to comment this time. Keep up the great work!
I care, Andy! Although this is the first time I've read your blog, to be honest. Karen Valby of EW.com didn't post her recap of RHONY from last week and I was looking for a blog to fill the void. Keep blogging so we have something interesting to do at work!
Hi Andy! Sounds like you had a great weekend! I, too couldn't believe Joe's last comment about Kathy's husband. They both need to learn how to "act" in public don't they? You handled it perfectly, imo.
andy, you are awesome!!! i just love watching you & reading your blogs! do you ever play Hanging with Friends? it's even more fun than words! if you do,you should find me on there: classyship. let's have a game! mazel!!
Love the Gorgas AND the Giudices! Really hope they reconcile. Kim G's re-entry to the show felt like a low point. Teresa and her family are entertaining and drama filled enough. Kim G's efforts to concoct drama are so obvious and annoying. Let's not give this woman a platform. Also, love Joe Gorga! The look on your face when he made that Arab joke was priceless! It was like "No no. No no. don't say that. Did you just say that??" HA! He is SO not used to being in the spotlight. He doesn't know PR101. (eeep for some reason..just reminded me of KellyKB...)
