Sarah was born in Royal Oak, Michigan. The visually repetitive environment of suburban architecture continues to inform and influence her work. Sarah focuses on installations and sculptures, which she believes are inspired by quotidian objects and spaces, copying, mirroring, and amplifying the chosen structures, creating tension between the original and the intervention. Sarah graduated with a BFA from the University of Michigan and continued her art education by earning a MFA at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. She has had a number of group exhibitions in New York including shows at the Drawing Center, Mixed Greens, and Smack Mellonand. She most recently had a solo show at the Akron Art Museum and is currently an art professor at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
