Scat-Art-Logical Humor

Bill didn't really get the whole Parkour as a bowel movement concept.

Wim Delvoye is a Belgian artist who once made an automated poop machine called, "Cloaca," so the idea of digestion art isn't entirely far-fetched. Although I'm not sure how a Parkour performance relates to bowel movements… I guess neither did Simon.
Sports, however, is a theme you often see played out (pun intended) in contemporary art from David Hammons' chandelier backboard to Taryn Simon's Ski Dubai photograph. I'm not convinced that the team dynamic in this challenge helped any one individual artist, but I did like the attempt to make an abstract rollercoaster. Isn't abstract work the closest we can get to bridling movement?

And how cool that we are finally seeing video art on Work of Art. Bayete went from almost being eliminated last week to winning this week, a high degree of difficulty maneuver which the other contestants then dubbed "a reverse Bayete."

Michelle again, er, rose to the occasion with a hilarious interactive sculpture. Jazz-Minh's photo really echoed this famous image by Luis Gispert of two cheerleaders doing back flips (Google untitled fluid exchange). Add to that, I think I saw him for a split second during our gallery opening?!
Kalup Linzy also stopped by the set for this episode, which was fun and really added to the gallery show experience.

Finally I was so happy to have Jeanne back in the mix. Sometimes people can't deal with a strong opinionated woman without dismissing her as being bitchy. The difference here is that Jeanne really knows what she's talking about, and she's not afraid to tell you.
