Hey everyone! I just had the opportunity to see this week's episode and wanted to make it short and sweet. My music has become something often talked about but very rarely heard. I am a singer/songwriter/producer who has been playing professionally since I was 16. My band is an amazing group of musicians and people. Rob Johnson is an amazing producer/bassist and Andre Allen, my drummer, is my brother from another mother. This show at the Whisky featured a legendary performer on stage with me, my mentor of sorts, Peter Black. He was an innovator of house music and a world recognized producer and performer. I felt his presence was a little overlooked. I moved out to LA to perform music as a career. I thought the path I wanted to go down was best walked away from the comfort of Ohio. The training opportunity came after a long stint in the service industry, and that was quickly followed by the show opportunity. It being all a bit of a whirlwind, it was very cool for people who watch the show to see who I really am and what I really do. I love the opportunity to change people's lives in the gym, but I really excel at talking to them in fresh lyrics and crunchy guitar riffs.
So thanks to everyone who has been checking out the music at MySpace.com, there you can purchase any music that is available. Also just FYI: The band is now called Body Karate. You can check us out at myspace.com/bodykaratemusic. Thanks to everyone who has shown love and support in the beginning stages of what is seemingly a multi-tiered career. Support local live music wherever you may call home -- it's really one of the few chances you get to see art in the world so up close and personal.
Can you dig it?
Much love, gb
