Captain Sandy Celebrated Her Birthday with a Decadent Gold Glitter Cake
The Below Deck Mediterranean captain shared a look at her special day.
February 23 is a major day for Captain Sandy Yawn: her birthday! The Below Deck Mediterranean cast member celebrated her special day with friends and family, sharing a look at her celebrations in a heartfelt Instagram post to commemorate the day.
“Thank you for all my birthday wishes,” Captain Sandy wrote. “Life for me is about the people I meet, I’m so grateful for my family and friends! Happy birthday to all the fish out there!”
In one photo, Sandy gave a glimpse at her delicious-looking birthday cake. Although Sandy didn’t confirm what flavor the beautiful cake was, it definitely appeared to be decadent with plenty of yummy chocolate frosting and a gold glittery topper that proudly stated “happy birthday” in a gorgeous script font.
The rest of the photos of the festivities included a few loving selfies with her stylish girlfriend, Leah Shafer, some puppy cuddles, a trip to the beach, and an outdoor brunch with friends.
If you’re wondering what Sandy meant when she wished a happy birthday “to all the fish out there,” it’s probably not a nautical inside joke. She was most likely referring to her fellow Pisceans, as the astrological sign Pisces is represented by two fish swimming in separate directions.
Speaking of fish…the captain recently shared a post from Amy Schumer, in which the comedian revealed that she has named one of her new goldfish after Sandy.
“Ok this totally made my year! I’m actually a fish, February kid! And to be in the same tank as [Goldie Hawn] is a privilege! That’s what happens when you go [overboard]. Thank you [Amy Schumer]!” Sandy captioned a video of Amy introducing her new goldfish.
