Mathew Shea Shares His Favorite Moment from This Season of Below Deck Med
The Below Deck Med chef recently shared the sweetest memory from working on Lady Michelle.
Season 6 of Below Deck Mediterranean has been filled with plenty of ups and downs for Mathew Shea. However, there is one moment that stands out to the chef as particularly amazing.
During a September 20 ask me anything session on Instagram, someone prompted Mathew to share his favorite memory from the season. "Baking a cake with [Roy Orbison III] was one of them for sure!" he wrote while sharing a photo of the sweet moment.
On the show's July 19 episode, Mathew opened up about making special meals for charter guests Roy Orbison Jr. and Asa Hallgren's young kids, Roy Orbison III and Bo Orbison. "It's so fun cooking for kids," he said. "Who doesn't love pizza and pasta and kids food? I ordered off the kids menu the last time I stayed at a resort."
While the cake he made with the young guest was a highlight for Mathew, another cake-making experience during the season didn't go quite as well. On the August 9 episode, Mathew enlisted Courtney Veale to help decorate a cake for their guests' celebration. As Courtney put it, the dessert looked like "someone's just made it for an 8-year-old's birthday." While the guest who requested the cakes was "disappointed" in the appearance of the desserts, everyone was beyond happy with the taste. "This is good," one said, while another added, "He's really good at desserts, too."
