In a November 7 Instagram video, the Below Deck Sailing Yacht mom shared how her overall well-being changed following the birth of her son, River, in August 2021. “I had quite a lot of health issues, and I developed an autoimmune disease that directly affected my metabolism,” she said in the clip. “I was super fatigued as well. I had been on medication. I was breastfeeding. I found that breastfeeding made me a lot hungrier, and I started gaining a substantial amount of weight per week and it was quite battering to my self-esteem.”

Now that she’s on a “medical weight-loss program” that is “monitored by a G.P.,” Alli shared that she has lost 26.5 pounds in four months and is “over halfway” to reaching her personal goal. “I’m in no way encouraging diet culture,” she explained. “I’m just simply sharing my journey.”

“Because of my health issues, I wanted to make sure that I was caring for my nutrient levels [and] that my thyroid and my vital organs that have been affected during my pregnancy were going to be nurtured throughout this journey as best as possible,” she continued in the video, in which she also explained the exact dietary changes she has made. In her caption, she added, “The next step will be the maintenance phase which is going to be a challenge in itself.”

Alli received support from her former castmate Dani Soares, who wrote, “You are beautiful either way but way to go girl.”
