Which Crew Member Would Love to Have a Nude Beach Picnic with Matt?
"I actually didn't think it was that bad of a date."
First dates are awkward. But showing up already drunk to a beach picnic you planned at a nude beach may take the award for the most uncomfortable date in Bravo history. While there were plenty of cringe worthy moments on Chef Matt Burns and Brianna Adekeye’s date on Below Deck this week, one man’s bad date is another man’s dream outing. At least, that’s how Nico Scholly felt when he recapped this episode with Kate Chastain on the latest podcast episode of After Deck.
“I mean let’s be honest, here. He brought you to the best nude beach in St. Maarten. How many people have been there?” Nico told Kate. “I haven’t been there. It’s such a shame. He should have taken me. I would appreciate it.”
The lead deckhand explained that he wouldn’t have been as “rude” as Bri and would have partaken in the liberating environment of the beach. “I totally would’ve loved it and gotten naked,” he said. “You’re going to be that guy and keep your clothes on? At least Matt gave it a chance, you know, by taking his shirt off.”
Nico told Kate that he and Matt bonded as roommates, “He was fun to live with.”
Kate and Nico admit though that maybe it wasn’t the best call for Matt to drink as much as he did prior to their excursion, but they couldn’t help being entertained by Matt’s antics and called the whole thing “an emotional roller coaster.”
“I mean quite frankly I did think that date was awesome,” Nico said. He and Kate also shared their worst date experiences with one another on After Deck and left nothing out. Let’s just say, Nico’s involved meeting his date on MySpace.
