“They've been separated for a while,” a source said, adding that the split was not due to an affair.
“There was no one else involved,” the source said.
The celebrity chef, 60, and Ottavia, 38, were married in 2007, and have a non-year-old daughter Ariane together.
In 2012, Ottavia told The New York Times they were “made for each other,” saying famed French chef Eric Ripert introduced her to Anthony and they fell madly in love after just a few dates. “Their first date was to a cigar bar; their second was to Masa,” the paper reported. "A few dates later, they had matching tattoos (of a chef’s knife) put on their shoulders. And after a few more dates, they married."
The two appear to have remained friendly, with Ottavia congratulating her ex on Instagram for his Creative Arts Emmy Award win last week.
“Huge congrats to @anthonybourdain and the whole @zpzproduction crew for once again winning an Emmy for Outstanding Informational Series or Special last night!!!” with a picture of Anthony holding his Emmy.
Anthony was previously married to first wife Nancy Putkoski for 20 years. They divorced in 2005.
