The perfect man doesn’t exi—
Whelp, so much for that. Former Bachelorette contestant Wells Adams may, in fact, be the perfect man. Sure, the new bartender on Bachelor in Paradise is handsome, smart and funny, but does he love dogs? The answer is a resounding YES. He REALLY loves dogs.
Wells’ love of dogs is impressive and multifaceted. When he’s not part of Bachelor Nation, Wells is a radio DJ in Nashville, TN and very involved Nashville Humane Association. For the last few years on his radio show, Wells has done a weekly segment where he features a dog in need of adoption. He discusses the dog on air, and then he posts photos to Instagram to help the doggos find their forever homes.
But his serious commitment to dogs isn’t always so serious. Wells’ Twitter is littered with quips about dogs and he seems to be a pretty fun dog dad—as evidenced by his Instagram post declaring his love for getting drunk and slow dancing with his dog, Carl.
Now let’s talk about Carl. Carl is a wonderful dog (and that’s not just because one day we hope he will be our stepdog). Carl is Wells’ 90-pound bloodhound that he adopted three years ago and they have been inseparable ever since. Well, almost inseparable, since they did have to separate when Wells was on season 12 of The Bachelorette.
Wells knew he’d miss Carl terribly, so he devised a plan around the show’s strict no phones or social media policy while filming: Wells made Carl his own Instagram account before he left for the show and had his dog-sitting sister update the account with frequent posts of Carl’s antics. Despite the fact that Wells wasn’t allowed to check social media himself, he charmed the producers to show him the account on their phones so he could check up on his beloved Carl every few days. Maybe they let Wells check on Carl because they knew the twosome came as a package deal; Carl played a prominent role in Wells’ Bachelorette audition tape.
How can you not love Wells? (We do not ask this rhetorically. Seriously, JoJo Fletcher, we mean you. Just how, on your season of The Bachelorette, did you let this be-dimpled hottie go?) JoJo’s loss is our gain—as is the rest of America’s. Since his bartender status on Bachelor in Paradise means Wells is sidelined from dating on the show, it has sparked rumors that he will be the next Bachelor. We certainly hope so! We want someone to love us the way Wells Adams loves dogs—and, um, can that person be Wells Adams?
