We've all heard about (or have been on) blind dates involving one dater being super rude about the other, but it turns out that behavior can get you torn apart on social media.
Billy, a 24-year-old actor with a busy schedule, likes the Upper East Side, first date picnics in Central Park, and punctuality. And he has been a bit of a virtual punching bag on Twitter following his brutally-harsh commentary of a blind date he had with Alyssa, also 24, for Time Out New York's Undateables, a series that pairs people who think they can't be matched up.
“She was about five minutes late, which annoyed the s*** out of me," he told TONY. "As soon as she walked into the room, I knew she wasn’t the girl for me. She didn’t have the goods.”
Alyssa's friends boldly stood up for her on Twitter and got #datealyssa trending in order to find her a better dude.
Not only did strangers take a swipe at him on social media for his nastiness, but women who actually know him came out of the woodwork to knock him off his pedestal, including one who clarified that he's really a background actor. Burn!
It's one of those hashtag threads you can easily get lost in reading.
As if there weren't already enough examples of nightmare blind dates, jerks now have a new model to follow and horrible terminology to use.
