Brandi Glanville advises women-and men-to save your pennies if you feel a breakup is coming.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star says that it's wise to keep a cash fund somewhere, that is just yours, so that if your other half leaves you, you're not left with nothing. She knows, she's been through the ringer with ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian.

"As a woman you can just never depend on a man, again, for anything. No I’m kiddin," she said on The Doctors, where she appeared to weigh in on money matters for couples. "But financially, you always have to take care of yourself, seriously."

The panel advised having an emergency fund on hand for unexpected life experiences, such as breakups, or a partner's death, and explained that you can start one with just a small amount of money. Instead of lavish dinners, put that money in a fund for a few months to start a small nest egg. Most people don't have an emergency fund available, and financial dependence on another person is a real thing and can lead to heartache and debt down the road.
