We fondly remember the days of going back-to-school shopping and picking out our perfect trapper keeper (the one with a neon piano on it, obvs), and insisting to our mother that we needed a 256 pack of magic markers. What we didn’t realize is that technically anything can be a back-to-school supply if you simply put it in your backpack and bring the item back to school.
One little girl in Georgia (who is clearly about a bajilliion times smarter than we were in our youth) must have been hip to that technicality, because along with her pencils and papers, she packed her two pet kittens into her knapsack.
First-grade teacher Anna Kate Hood posted the following photo on Facebook with the caption, “They tell teachers to be prepared for anything, but I was not ready to open a book bag this morning and find two kittens. My student said she even put food in there and wanted to keep them at her desk to cuddle with after she finished her work. Gotta love first grade.”
While we deeply understand the desire to have snugglepusses with us at all times, we’re sure the kittens found their way back home safe and sound. Still, we think this little girl will be happy to know that when she grows up, she may be able to bring her kittens to work—and might even earn a “cat bonus” in the process!
