Go Ahead And Slurp That Unicorn Frappuccino – But Don’t Expect To Get A Date

Starbucks’ Unicorn Frappuccino, that flavor-changing, color-changing drink that begs to be Instagrammed, may be great for your social media, but this treat can instantly kill your love life, according to a new study.

The dating website WhatsYourPrice surveyed its members to determine if the limited edition drink has had any influence on American singles, and it has, indeed. According to more than 3,000 respondents, 66 percent of women would not date a man who they caught sipping the pink and blue frozen drink.

Why are women so against dating a man who’s been entranced by that ever-changing blended crème that turns into a spectacle of purple and pink (which Starbucks finishes it off with "whipped cream-sprinkled pink and blue fairy powders” their words exactly).

Brandon Wade, founder and CEO of WhatsYourPrice, blames it on the fad-like quality of the limited edition drink, which may be a financial windfall for Starbucks. But “men who fall for trends may be perceived as followers, and women are looking to date a leader,” Brandon says.

Ladies aren’t out of the woods entirely either, as 13 percent of men who responded said they wouldn’t date a woman who they caught drinking the Unicorn.

When it comes to love, it may be best to leave mystical creatures and fairy dust to the storybooks.
