Guess the Remote Island Where Kanye West Filmed His Latest Video

Hotel owners say he was the "perfect guest."

He is a man who has been known to seriously rock a kilt, and his go-to guy is Glaswegian producer Hudson Mohawk, so we've always suspected Kanye West has a little love for Scotland. The rapper took that relationship to another level a few days ago when he visited the remote Isle of Skye — off Scotland's, er North West, coast — to shoot the video for his new single "Waves."

Scotland's Daily Record reports that the artist and his seven-strong entourage stayed at the four-star Skeabost House Hotel (the only hotel on the island with its own golf course) on Sunday night, taking half of the venue's 14 rooms. Naturally, Kanye called dibs on the hotel's biggest, sea-facing room, but sadly Kim Kardashian was not there to share his four-poster bed.

“The staff at the hotel say he chatted to everyone," the Daily Record quotes a hotel spokesperson as saying. "Photographs were banned. But they said he was just like one of the guys really. They did ask if Kim Kardashian West was part of his entourage, but they were told she was elsewhere. He was very busy and didn’t have a lot of time. He was definitely here to work."

The hotel's co-owner Anne Gracie said, "Kanye was the perfect guest — charming, courteous and polite. We were delighted to offer him and his companions our usual Highland hospitality and would welcome him back any time."

Should Kanye decide to take up the offer, we hope he has a little more time to see the sights of this stunning island. Perhaps he could go mountain climbing in the Cuillins, bag one of the mountain range's 12 "Munros" (the Scottish name for a mountain higher than 3,000 feet); hike around the jagged rocks and pinnacles of the Quiraing landslip on the Trotternish peninsula, or have a dreamlike wander through the otherworldy Fairy Glen.

Afterward, he could try a wee dram of whisky at the Talisker Distillery then dinner at the Michelin-starred Kinloch Lodge. And for a man who knows how to rock a kilt, might we recommend a trip to Kilt Rock? Maybe the boundary pushing fashionista would also like to pay his respects to the late, great Alexander McQueen, who is buried on the island, his ancestral home, and of whom West was a big fan.
