“Can I have snack? Can I have a snack?” I hear this question 75 times a day from my kids. Sometimes it’s mere minutes after they have left the breakfast table. They may have been part of the clean plate club or they may have had two bites and declared they were full. Regardless, that question will be asked then and again and again before sundown.
One of the hardest parts of parenting is making smart food choices for our kids. We try to limit the snacks to ensure healthy appetites for meals. But with the reality of life on the go, snacks are a must—in between school pick up and sports or when hunger hits while at the playground. It’s easy to get caught up in the highly processed snacks because they are convenient and easily accessible at most grocery stores (and cheap!).
So I went on a hunt for munchies you won’t feel bad about and your kid’s rapidly-growing bodies will love. Below are nine packaged snacks that are both convenient and healthy for your kids. Did I mention that you will love them, too?
