What does George Clooney do for the woman who has everything (including him!) on their second anniversary? For Amal Clooney, it was a romantic meal, and you won’t believe who donned the chef’s apron.
"It's very big news. Very, very big celebration—fireworks … Okay, I made dinner,” George told E!.
Yep, for his beautiful wife, George dug out their pots and pans and tossed together something that would satisfy their appetites, or one would think.
George also admitted that Amal is "never quite impressed with my cooking … If I slap something together—spaghetti and meatballs—she doesn't know that it comes in a jar, so I can just fool her with that one," he said.
Luckily for Amal, George left the meal-making to the professionals when the two tied the knot in Venice, Italy, back on September 27, 2014.
With their star-studded group of family and friends, which included Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso, Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber, Ellen Barkin, and Bill Murray, the newlyweds enjoyed an elegant feast prepared by Salza Catering, and chef Riccardo de Pra.
The four-course meal started off with small bites and canapes, which was followed by ravioli with lemon and ricotta and a lemon and blue lobster risotto. The main entrée was Chianina Tuscan beef, while dessert was a chaud-froid with zabaglione.
What may be the best gift for his wife is what George, 55, told Esquire this past April. “"I've never been happier in a relationship by any stretch of the imagination," he shared. "At 52, I found the love of my life and I'm really happy."
Let’s all collectively sigh.
