Wait…what?? You're probably wondering how it's possible to hold a beer bottle wrong. It doesn't seem so hard, right? Any idiot can pick up a bottle of beer.
Well, it turns out that how most people grasp a bottle—by the base—isn't the ideal way to do it, according to The Sun. Most beers are best when they're cold, and the heat from your hand warms up the beer inside the bottle. Instead, pick up the bottle by the neck, where there's less—or no—beer that will be affected.
It makes sense if you think about it; after all, the correct way to hold a wine glass is by the stem, not the bowl, for the exact same reason.
So the next time you're reaching for an ice-cold Corona from the cooler this summer, make sure to grab it by the neck. Unless you're a fan of warm beer on a hot summer day, of course.
