So, you typically go savory for your Taco Tuesdays? That’s so two weeks ago. Tacos just got ridiculously sweet—on like eleven different levels—thanks to some mad genius-ing at Sweet Cup in Orange County, CA. They’re ice cream tacos, and they’re real life, people.
With flavors inspired by the shop owner’s unabashed love of boba tea, the dessert tacos are stuffed with rolled ice cream, the hottest trend in frozen dairy right now (thanks, Thailand!). To get super-scientific, the rolled deliciousness is concocted by pouring liquid ice cream on a super-cold metal surface to quickly freeze it, then adding mix-ins while it’s flat to build up some hella-tasty flavors. Roll the ice cream up, stick it in a taco shell-shaped waffle cone, and boom—pure ice cream taco bliss.
You can dig/crunch into classic tastes like strawberry shortcake or s’mores, or opt for more exotic flavors like matcha or charcoal black coconut crowned with edible gold. Of course, if you feel like having your Instagram feed full-on explode, you could go for the unicorn-inspired Rainbow Road, with Fruity Pebbles, rainbow sour straws, and sprinkles, and an appropriately pink taco shell. Or try the shop's most popular concoction, the Monster Inc, which features a bright blue ice cream with Oreo and chocolate chip cookie mix-ins. The rolled ice cream is snuggled into a bright blue shell, then topped off with whipped cream, a drizzle of chocoloate, and—of course—garnished with a chocolate chip cookie.
