If we're being honest, we've rarely met a spa treatment we didn't like. But certainly not all are created equal.
In fact, some massages — we hear — involve only one lonely therapist. But a new spa offering across the world ups the ante... by four times.
Specifically, Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita has introduced a new eight-handed massage at its overwater spa atop the glorious Indian ocean. Named "Let it Go," the treatment is the first of its kind to be offered in Mauritius, and makes the resort one of few in the world to offer such luxury.
Available in a 60-minute and a 90-minute option, the massage uses the fluid motions of four therapists.
"It is something much more than a massage," spa director Constance Chapalain said in a release. "It is an experience that promotes overall well-being and has been especially created for those who need to let it go, but who struggle to find relaxation."
Indeed, if you can't relax with four therapists working on you in an overwater spa in Mauritius — well, then you are probably beyond help.
"The perfect synergies of this eight-handed massage are comparable to a dancer’s choreography — fluid, soothing, and emotionally releasing," Chapalain said.
The 60-minute treatment is available for 26,000 Mauritian rupees 26,000 — that's about $732 — and the 90-minute treatment is available for 36,000, or about $1,014. Naturally, you'll be springing for the 90-minute version if you've already come this far.
