John Legend Sings Gordon Ramsay’s Best Insults and It's Pure Genius
We're waiting for the album to drop.
Gordon Ramsay is a man of many talents. He’s a world-renowned Michelin star chef. He’s a prolific producer and star of television shows in both the U.S. and U.K. And he possesses the ability to absolutely DECIMATE people with insults.
As in, the man can craft a jab so hard-hitting, it’ll leave you feeling it at home.
If it takes 10,000 hours to master something, then who knows how long he’s actually spent verbally berating people to reach such a razor-precise level of expertise.
It’s poetry: Angry, expletive-filled British poetry.
So, to probably only half-jokingly pay homage to the culinary world’s master of takedowns, the U.K.’s The Nightly Show enlisted the help of John Legend to turn some of Ramsay’s greatest insults into beautiful, soulful music. Legend, who was probably taking a break from whatever delicious recipe Chrissy Teigen is working on, tickles the ivories while crooning Ramsay’s sweet-insult-nothings, ranging from the complex: “You put so much ginger in this it’s a Weasley” to the simple classic: “How the f— did you burn ice cream?”
(Which, by the way, is an excellent question. How does one burn ice cream?)
Of course, no one does Chef Ramsay insults quite like the man himself, so stick around until the ending for a special duet between Legend and the insult legend.
Watch Legend/Ramsay’s greatest hits and keep your fingers crossed that a follow-up album drops soon.
