Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have reached a joint settlement in their bitter divorce battle.
“Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity,” the former couple told People in a joint statement.
According to TMZ, Johnny will pay Amber $7 million, and she will donate a portion of that to charity.
The settlement came on Tuesday, just before the domestic violence case against Johnny was about to begin. A judge has dropped the case.
The two were headed to trial as photos and videos leaked of the actor drinking wine, smashing cabinets, and reportedly scrawling on a wall in blood.
Amber filed for divorce then was granted a temporary restraining order in May after claiming that Johnny had been verbally and physically abusing her throughout their marriage.
