Kate Chastain Says Jennifer Howell "Sucks at Her Job"

There’s a lot more to navigate than open water when you’re a crew member on a chartered yacht — just ask anyone from the casts of Below Deck or Below Deck Mediterranean. Better yet, ask yachtie veteran Kate Chastain. When Below Deck Med set sail for Season 1, Kate quickly found her voicemail full with messages from new cast members looking for guidance.

How to Watch

Watch Below Deck on Peacock and the Bravo App.

Ultimately, her informal high seas hotline inspired Kate to take her insider advice mainstream and share her thoughts and opinions on all things Below Deck on her brand new podcast, After Deck with Kate Chastain.

“Basically, all of the Below Deck Med people were calling me for advice, giving me their takes on the season, and I felt like I was Dr. Phil,” Kate recalled in a recent interview with The Daily Dish podcast. She told hosts Rachael Roberts and Megan Segura, “I thought it was so interesting to hear all these different Below Deck crew members' takes on virtually the same experience.”

And the premise for her podcast was born. Each episode will feature a different guest, many of whom are Below Deck alumni, recapping episodes with Kate and sharing their unique perspective on the events of the show. Kate will also discuss yachtie-life and charter guest gossip. Don’t be surprised, though, if other Bravolebrities and popular podcast hosts pop up in a few episodes to dish with Kate about what happens on the boat each week.

Kate told The Daily Dish that she hopes the podcast will create a new opportunity for her to interact with Below Deck fans and answer all of their burning questions. Subscribe to After Deck with Kate Chastain now and check out the trailer, above. The first episode airs Tuesday night after a new episode of Below Deck.
