Kate Chastain Said Adam Glick's Insistence On Onions “Never Would Have Happened” On Her Watch

It was the onion chop heard around the Bravo world, as Below Deck Mediterranean chef Adam Glick continually snuck onions into seemingly every dish, despite charter guests expressing their distaste for the root vegetable on their preference sheets. It left guests perturbed and marked the beginning of a rough patch for the chef with his crewmate and chief stew, Hannah Ferrier. However, if you ask Below Deck chief stew, Kate Chastain, the whole thing could have been avoided if she were on deck.

“I feel like if I had been on a charter with them, the onions, they never would have happened,” Kate revealed on The Daily Dish podcast. Kate and Hannah have a close chief stew bond, but Kate explained that Hannah had a lot of other things to focus on besides Adam’s chaotic cooking.

“I think Hannah loves Adam and I think that their friendship developed too late in the season, because she was distracted by other people,” Kate said. “But I think I would have zeroed in on Adam and made him an ally much sooner in the game.”

Adam admitted at the Below Deck Med reunion that he regrets the onion incident. Kate has also been very vocal about her adoration of the chef and her desire to work with him. Last May, she awarded him “best cake” via twitter for the boob cakes he made for his Mr. Skin charter guests last season of Below Deck Med. 

Perhaps Adam will be one of the many guests on Kate’s new podcast, After Deck with Kate Chastain, which launches Tuesday night after a new episode of Below Deck.
